Every hosting company goes through some growing pains and drops the ball from time to time, what matters is to they improve and fix the situation quickly.  We can honestly say that these guys are always working on their game and that is what we like to see.  No hosting company is perfect, no matter what you might read, but handling complaints and ugly situations with class is the right way to do business. 

Bigger Not Always Better

The Small Business Site Builder Offered at BlueHost

Bluehost’s site builder seems to be a good one, not any better than any of the other web hosts in our top 10 but certainly serviceable.  If you need a site builder to put a few quick sites without buying any additional software then you can certainly do that with their application.

Sure it won’t come close to a DreamWeaver site but we realize that many people, especially small business folks, don’t really need anything too slick. They just need to put their cyber shingle up and service existing customers.  Well, this site builder is definitely good for that.  The site builder that Bluehost has is perfect for a new small business, and we know there are a lot of folks looking for something like this, if that’s what you’re looking for, this could very well be your host.

Bluehost could be better…

The servers have been sort of up and down lately, which scares me.  I’ve been with the company for a few months (since Oct. 2010) and I have noticed that the customer service is great, they are very responsible and responsive…but I’m worried about performance.  I have been adding new domains lately and everything is fine, no bandwidth problems on anything like that at all.  I’m a patient person, and I hope that these outages are just a minor glitch, I believe that they probably are, this is a very old and respected  company.  But, I can’t in good conscious give them a 5 start review at this point.”

Sites Have Been Down A Bit Lately.

Ok, so my sites on Bluehost load fast, and that’s great because as we know site load time is important in rankings now, at least for Google…are there any other search engines that really matter?  LOL.  But, here’s the deal my sites have been going down for an hour or two a day for last several days.  Sure, I’ve got the shared hosting packages so I realize that it’s not going to be perfect, but I expected a little bit more than this.  When I contacted customer service they were pretty helpful and patient, however their suggestion was that if I wanted perfect uptime that I upgrade to a dedicated server.  I’d love to, but I just don’t have the money right now.  Maybe this is how it is at every web host, but I’m a bit disappointed.”

Bluehost Under attack??

Is this some sort of wiki leaks conspiracy to bring down the internet or something more?  I’m a web developer so I need good hosting for my client’s.  I’ve got a fairly large reseller account and a lot of websites up with Bluehost…but lately I’ve been experiencing more down time problems.  It seems to me that they are ungoing maintenance during regular business hours — that is a big no-no in my book.  They have been a solid business partner for me for many years, and I appreciate that, but lately they have been dropping the ball.  I’m going to stick with them for another month or two and see what happens!

    What’s with the bad reviews for Bluehost? I’ve been with them for the last 5 years running several sites, etc. and I haven’t had a single problem – not one. Their customer support has been great – tech people are really helpful and always respond pretty quick. I use my site for my business and other people I know use different hosts and run into problems all the time. Bluehost has been great for me – don’t listen to all the bad stuff.

    We’ve been with BlueHost for about 6 months. Their customer support has been really good and always responsive. We just added another domain to our account and are generally pleased. Lately their server speed has been a little slow. We’ll be patient with them and hope they resolve the issue with their servers – which I’m sure is just a little glitch. Happy to recommend them for now.

    I’ve been with BlueHost for years and have had six sites with them and I never had any trouble – everything was just great. And now for some reason I just can’t get anything done. I don’t know what’s going on with them but I can’t even seem to access my webmail – not good! After talking with their customer support the tech guys tell me they just “don’t know what the problem is”. So they told me to use another computer – whatever – it still doesn’t work. They were so reliable and I don’t want to go – but I may have no choice. I hope they smarten up.

    I’m confused with some of the bad reviews for Bluehost. I’ve been with them for the last 5 years and I’ve had great service. All of my domains, blogs, galleries and databases are running great with no problems whatsoever. Sure, there have been a few outages – but I think that’s pretty normal. The one time I did use tech support they were really responsive and helped me in minutes. I use my site for my business and I run into colleagues all the time that are having way more problems with their web hosts than I’ve had to deal with. Bluehost have been great and I’d recommend them with no hesitation.

    I have used Bluehost for close to 2 years and I am quite surprised that some people weren’t satisfied with their hosting. I have hosted many different domains and websites with them and all seem to run fine. Yes, I will admit that there were some periods where there was some brief downtime, but remember this is something that could happen with any webhosting company and not just Bluehost. The prices were good and so were the customer and technical service. Back when I started I didn’t have much experience with web development and could barely upload my site to their server, but their crew was very helpful to me. Therefore I would recommend Bluehost.

    I’ve got eight websites hosted with BlueHost and they’re all running really well. Their pricing is great and what you get compared to the other providers out there – it’s good value for the money. I will admit that there have been some downtime issues of late, but tech support have always been quick to respond and really helpful. So I for one will give them a pretty positive review – I’m really quite happy with what they do for me.

    I stayed with BlueHost for just over a year and then switched. BlueHost misrepresent their bandwith space and they’re down a lot. Customer service has been really poor and tech support is just not supportive! And I find their billing methods really sneaky and it’s pretty hard to get them to reverse charges – even when they’ve screwed up. Tired of the stress of dealing with them.

    I’ve recommended a lot of clients to Bluehost and have used them for several years. But recently there have been a lot of issues with down time and pages loading slower than molasses! I’ve called and tried live chat – only to be told either (a) someone’s hacking their system (b) they’re just doing regular maintenance or (c) they just don’t know. So no real resolution and then lo and behold everything’s fine again. I’m giving them a few more months but I may be moving my sites and those of my clients very soon.

    Bluehost is great for me! I have not had any problems with them so far even after using their service for around one year. I can’t comment much on their technical support as I never had to deal with them, but all the other aspects of the service are extremely good and I am satisfied.     Bluehost have been a great webhost company for me. The technical support has been excellent and overall performance has been very good. They have a great selection of features – I can create sub domains and try out any of the applications once installed. Set up has been a breeze. Highly recommend them.

    I used Bluehost for the past few years and I only have some positive things to say about them. When I started with them, I wasn’t a newbie when it comes to hosting, but I wasn’t a pro either. Their tech support and customer service have always gone the extra mile when it comes to helping me with any problems that I had. I also like the fact that their customer service and support is based in America rather than outsourced to some cheap center offshore where you have to deal with reps who can barley understand what you want and have to repeat several times before they get it right.

    Generally a good host, but just recently they changed their terms on me mid-contract. I signed up for a 3 year term and last month, they decided I had to pay them an extra $10/year for domain privacy. This makes their hosting more expensive than others for the same basic feathers. When I tried to talk to them about it – how they were changing the terms mid-stream – they said they weren’t and wouldn’t discuss it further.

    I’ve used them for 5 years but I don’t think I will again when it’s time to renew; I didn’t like this changing the terms mid-stream nor did I like their response. Maybe they’re in trouble financially and this is just the first indication?

    I have had 3 sites hosted by Bluehost in two years and am thinking of switching to a different company now. It seems that my sites are functional one day and down the next. The load times for my websites have gotten quite slow recently, especially for multimedia content such as Flash. Whenever I call them concerning a problem with their service they seem to read a scripted answer without even completely listening to whaat you asked. The prices are good, but the service I have received is really not.

    BlueHost really needs to fix their servers. That’s all I’m going to say. After using them for more than one year, I always experienced problems uploading files to my site, errors, pages not loading, etc. They were not very helpful in resolving problems either. I would advise that you simply use a better web host than them.

    Bluehost is good in terms of the technical aspects of hosting, very good features to help you build the site and reliable servers. But their customer service should improve a bit. Needed to call 3 times to get a billing problem resolved and it seemed that the first 2 people didn’t really accomplish anything. I don’t know if it is an isolated case, but just something to be aware of. Other than that, I would recommend the host, as my experience wasn’t TOO negative, but just made me waste a bit of time calling them.

    I’ve been with Bluehost for more than 4 years. Overall, the price is good, it’s a very easy to use, the servers are stable– all at a reasonably cheap price. With that said, I did come into a situation last year where they were hit with a SQL Injection attack which brought my site, along with thousands of other blog-related sites down– all hosted on Bluehost servers. Without notification, they took down my site and blamed me for not keeping the scripts up to date. When I called in requesting to know how to remediate the problem, they linked me to a script that I had to run which would check each of my blog files and remove the malicious code (in theory). I ran the script which crashed after 15 minutes. I then called back requesting assistance since they’re script failed to work and they said I had too many files on the servers and I was left to handle it on my own.

    Ultimately, I had deleted ALL my blog files, reuploaded my files and hoped an attacker wouldn’t hit my website with another SQL injection.

    First off, we are the customers. They need a perimeter defense in place, such as an IDS system that would catch this at the firewall on the fly. When I asked about such systems, they said they didn’t have any in place– which resulted me fixing the issue myself.

    So it’s a love/hate relationship at this point. I don’t call technical support anymore as I lost hope in them.

    Blue Host is good in my opinion. I remember using them 3 or 4 years ago for a while and was not happy with server problems. But now it all seems to be behind them and they are now running everything 100% perfectly. Therefore I am really proiud to be dealing with them as my web host. I have only 1 site hosted with them for now, but I hope to build a bigger business and will definitely think of using them for more of my web sites.

    The name of this host really sounds funny to me, after I was left blue from anger after dealing with their customer service. I was billed 2 times on the same day for 1 month. After they have said they would fix it, they never did. When I called again, I was told to wait and then disconnected. Same thing after I called again. Eventually was resolved by sending them email. Their customer service is really not competent at all.

    While Bluehost says that everything is unlimited, this is actually not the case in reality. Sure, they say that you get unlimited domains, subdomains and parked domains, however this will be useful if you are only putting up some simple HTML website, as they have a limit of maximum 1000 databases table on one account. If you install things such as WordPress or Joomla with various plugins then you will run into problems after maybe 3 or 4 sites.

    So this is a great host if you are hosting only a basic site without using tools like Joomla or Drupal. Price is quite good too, but if you want to host several interactive sites like blogs or forums then you need to get VPS hosting or dedicated server, because the regular hosting plan will not do for you.

    For several years I have used Bluehost and am extrelemly happy with what I had received so far. The only service disruptions were short and during times that they have advised their customers that they would be performing upgrades. Their customer service is rapid to respond to all inquiries and is genuinely helpful, unlike with certain other hosting businesses where it seems that only their “sales” department responds to your inquiries and the rest of the host doesn’t care. I am very happy and I do recommend Bluehost to every body.

    I used BlueHost for the past 4 months and it is a disapointing company. While what they offer in the plans may seem great, the reality of what happens is that you will get almost constant outages. It happens at least once a week that I would get my site down for more than 5 hours and also not have been able to access my email. When I email ed support they simply copy pasted a generic response which shows that they don’t even both to read what you wrote before hitting send. Bluehost is not a recommended host at all.

All the outages have been the planned outages where they informed the users before hand of the situation. The features that they have available in cpanel are also truly amazing.     BlueHost is a hosting company that I have used for the past few months, I have switched because of the BlueHost review which say that it is a reliable company at good prices. Well the prices are ok, but the reliability is more of a problem for me. My site seems to be going down on an almost daily basis now and this lasts for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Of course, their tech support is quite good as said in many BlueHost review and they asnwer quickly. But the important thing is for my site to be live and available at all times, that way I wouldn’t need to call their support that often. While I think they are really trying to give good service to the webmasters the reliability is something that they must improve.

    I have been using Bluehost for the past few years now and can give them nothing more than great praise for all the good service that they have offered me so far. When I signed up with Bluehost as my hosting company I have already had a few web sites in the past and so I knew what you can expect from a web host. Their customer service seems to always go above and beyond the expectations that you had. Something that is different with Bluehost customer service is that it is all based in America as far as I know. This means that you will not have any problems communicating with staff and their customer service are actually interested in helping you, rather than being some drones in a third party operation that can only read from a script that they see on the screen. Your experience with Bluehost will be a very good one, I have not had to call their service often, only about 3 times to update billing details and to ask some questions about what is included in my plan. They are a great hosting company. I have recommended Bluehost to a few people who actually use their website much more than me and have a lot more traffic and so far there have been no problems for them either.

    After having read some BlueHost reviews on a couple of websites and forums, I decided to give this company a go to see if they were really like some people claimed. Many have said that Bluehost is one of the most reliable web hosting companies on the internet right now. I don’t have much to compare them to, since it has been several years since I have last used another hosting provider. But in terms of reliability, I can truly say that they do live up to their uptime guarantee quite well. In fact I have only noticed that my site was down a couple of times over the year, but it was only limited outages and the issue lasted only a few minutes. This was really not a major concern and I really do consider them to be quite reliable.

    The prices that they offer are very inexpensive for the quality and the feautres that they give. But you should also know that the prices for web hosting are pretty much the same everywhere now, especially if you sign up for a plan, you will usually pay $4 a month or something around that. Their features also work well, I have used the email, the stats and the backup tool and all of these have been working 100% and doing their job right. So I really think that BlueHost is a top notch web hosting company.

    For the past 1 year, I have been dealing only with Bluehost for all of my hosting needs. There are 3 sites that I have hosted with them at the present moment. Reliability is 100% because none of the sites ever went down for long enough for me to notice or for one of my visitors to complain that they don’t see my site. Email is received and sent 100% too. Because of their great reliability I recommend Bluehost to everyone else. The prices are very good too.

    I wouldn’t say that BlueHost is a bad web hosting company, because they have not done anything that would be outrageously bad. However, users of this web hosting place need to be aware of certain things when deciding to do some business with them. Sure, they say that all their packages are unlimited, but are they really? Well, the reality of this will be a bit different. While you get unlimited storage space, as well as unlimited domains and sub domains, the “unlimited” here is little more than a marketing gimmick, because this is not true. There is a limit of 1000 database tables for each shared hosting account. So if you want Joomla hosting or WordPress hosting from them, be aware that you can only fit about 4 websites that use these systems. Maybe if you have just an HTML website with 2 pages and 5 or 6 pictures, then yes you can say that it is truly unlimited. Also, another problem that I have seen with this company is that at times their bandwidth seems to be poor. Site simply runs slowly. This was also quite apparent when uploading content to the website. Even though I have one of the fastest internet connections that you can get, it seems that the upload rate to their servers was about 1/3 of what it should have really been. Not bad, the pricing is good and the support has been friendly. But if you have a large project, then you will seriously need to consider these limitations and maybe go for another kind of web hosting.

    Bluehost is really bad. While I am sure that there are many different users out there that will swear they had nothing but the greatest experience with them, sure I will believe them. But your experience will definitely vary depending on how much you actually use the services that Bluehost claims to provide. What I find is that they are quite simply lying to customers when they say they are unlimited. Also, you should avoid using another company called Fast Domain because it seems they are run by the same people than Bluehost. Their support even denied it at first, but when I said they use the same support people, same panel design, they finally said they are run by the same management.

    This company is quite simply always lying. And I really mean always lying. They say that you will get unlimited space for your account. Well, you won’t. I have done a complete backup of my database just in case something happened when I was upgrading the software I was using. Then they right away suspended my account saying that their web hosting service is not a place for me to “store my files”. Apparently the database that is used to power my website is not considered an acceptable use of their disk storage.

    They say they offer unlimited bandwidth and traffic. One again this is false. If you have too many visitors seeing your site at the ssame time they immediately suspend your account. Then they claim they thought your site was being DDOS or hacked, even though there were barely over 140 people accessing it according to my logs.

    If you are using any system that requires a database or SQL queries than once again you will need to forget about Bluehost, because they will lie to you. They say you can store unlimited MySQL databases but this is really not true. If the databases get too big, they will suspend your account. If the script that you are running uses too much of their CPU activity on the server, even for just a few minutes, they will once again suspend your service and say that you are abusing their hosting services.

    Finally, the problem is they never let you know that they will suspend your site. You then have to contact them to get the problem resolved and when they talk to you, instead of trying to provide you with the explanation in a polite and logical way, they really don’t seem to have a clue themselves as to what they are supposed to be doing. Most of them time when you speak to them they are as rude as possible too.

    If the site that you will be building only gets a few visitors each day, then maybe Bluehost is going to be the right company for you. Sure their rates are very affordable and you may like them because of that. But the reason as to why I left them in the first place is simply because they are liars about the (everything is always unlimited) part. I don’t want to be dealing with a company that looks like it is owned by Pinocchio himself. They are simply greedy and do not want anyone to be using their hosting to its full potential. I recommend anyone that is actually doing business on the internet to stay away. For very simple sites, Bluehost DOES provide good hosting, unlike them I am not a liar and can admit the good points. But if you have a more complex site installation, then there are much better site services out there.

    Hosted various accounts with them over the past couple of years. I recently moved some domains that were with another company to them. No problems at all. In total I have contacted support three times by using chat and telephone and all was resolved well to my satisfaction. For the low price they charge, you are really getting a great deal on your hosting. Their Cpanel works great and is well organized to give quick access to all the necessary tools and features. All the tools that you can need to operate your website are available in the Cpanel and are also included for free, not like some other hosts where every feature seems to cost extra. It has now been over 4 years that I have been on Bluehost. This is one of the few web hosting companies that I would fully recommend without any hesitations from me.

    Very nice hosting at BlueHost. I have hosted several websites with them and have recently added 2 other domains to my account. The transfer went ahead very quickly and without the slightest problem at all. I have contacted their support around 3 times in total by chat and phone and all the issues were resolved very quickly. For the price that you are paying, it is really an excellent deal. Everything about this hosting is wonderful. I would highly recommend them to anyone, since they are really doing their job right.

    Bluehost has been an amazing web host all the time. My business has been using their services for three years now and everything was satisfactory. What sets them apart from other hosting companies is that they keep users informed of any maintenance work that they do on their servers. That way if your site will be down for a while, then at least you will know that this is going to happen, for how long it will last and when it should be over. They also give you lots of advice on how to run your site correctly, how to make sure it is secure, etc. It is very good that a hosting company adopts a proactive attitude towards preventing technical problems and in the web hosting world I think that this is eomthing that we just do not see enough of this days. All their web hosting components are of the greatest quality. Their customer service will always respond to your questions in a rapid manner. It is because of all this that I recommend Bluehost for those who want to be dealing with a serious hosting company that cares about what they do.

    I signed up for their hosting at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately I have had trouble in the very first few weeks that I was their customer. During business hours, my site has experienced down time that lasted almost 5 hours. When I called Bluehost support to find out what was going on I was informed that they were having troubles with the server that my site has been put on and that they were working on fixing it. I asked them if they couldn’t simply move the data to another server while the issues were worked out and they said this wasn’t possible. Now to someone who finds using a mouse and keyboard challenging it might be an acceptable explanation. The thing is, I have worked at Network Operations for a major communications provider for close to a decade,, There are plenty of solutions, both software and hardware tools that can be used to ensure that service would not be interrupted if a server is having issues. However, Bluehost doesn’t seem to want to implement this. Too lazy? Too cheap? Or just too incompetent? Maybe a combination of all three I guess. I just canceled my hosting with them and all of my stuff was moved somewhere else. They did seem to kick up a fuss when I told them I was going elsewhere but I really don’t care. I won’t even bother asking for a refund as it is simply not worth arguing with them for hours on end. I never thought that a hosting company that would look professional and of decent quality to have such issues but I guess I have learned my lesson the hard way. Now, I always research my web hosts thoroughly before I sign up and I never pay for my service in advance, always month by month. I was under the impression that hosting companies would know what they are doing and they would know what to do in case a server failed and customer sites were not available because of this, but I guess I was stupid to believe that. Oh well, at least I can thank them for opening my eyes to the problems that seem to plague many web hosts these days.

    I am surprised you give BlueHost and HostMonster such varied ratings, since they are both essentially the same company. They use different phone numbers for tracking and to maintain the customer sense of loyalty, as is common in many businesses today.

    I really like Bluehost and their server quality seems to have improved in the past couple of months. They have a blog on their website which they use to keep customers updated on recent changes or upgrades that they make to heir services. You can go ahead and read it, this is not something just for computer geeks but really a good way to know what your hosting company is up to when it comes to their servers and the issues that they are facing. Based on the Bluehost reviews what struck me is that almost all of the negative reviews were saying something like ‘Woooooaaah! I had 9 829 838 724 files and was sending 3459 emails per second and they suspended me! How unfair!’ Ok, I am exaggerating a bit but you should get the general idea. Even though it says unlimited on their home page anyone with half a brain should know that unlimited hosting is not really that unlimited. If you are intelligent enough to create a high traffic e-commerce site then you should be intelligent enough to know that as well. Based on a conversation with support, you can have a maximum of 50 000 files on their server, send 750 emails each hour, have 450 visitors at your site at once (HTTP only), have 40 PHP connections running at once and use less than 128 MB of RAM on the server. If you stay below this, you will be fine. The only people who might have an issue with this and not know it is those that install several WordPress hosting blogs, as these take up a couple thousand of files each, so with a few blogs, you can easily exceed the 50 000 file limit.

    I want to thank Bluehost for their great service this far and I also want to thank Eric for all the great support provided to my website. Last month my site was hacked and he helped me figure out what the security issue was and how I could prevent it from happening in the future. Bluehost is a company that is very serious about the satisfaction of their customers and it really shows. My only regret in all of this is not finding them before. It would have saved me a lot of hassle to have went with Bluehost directly rather than having the problems I did with my old web hosts.     The hosting at Bluehost is very reliable. Many Bluehost reviews will say the same thing and I agree with them 100%. I have never had a single time where my website was down or unresponsive, ever. The only thing that I didn’t like about them is that they disabled the catch all email feature. This means that you now need to set up an email box for all the emails that you want people to contact you at. They did not inform their customers of this at all beforehand and I only found this out when I contacted them about it. They said that it was because they were receiving a lot too much spam and that this was affecting their network. When I asked whether this feature will be available again in the future they said that they simply don’t know. Now I understand the basis of their decision and I don’t want my email or website to go down because they are receiving millions of spam mails that are causing their systems to overload, but the least that they could have done is to make an announcement of this to their customers. It is only for this reason that this host does not get an 100% rating from me. But if you don’t need this for your email, then you will definitely like this company. As I have read in their blog, they are always making adjustments to improve the quality of their service and make things better for their clients.

    In general, Bluehost gives good service. The site stays up when it needs to be and their customer support is great too: they answer all of your questions. I will admit that however they are not the fastest, it seems that sometimes you need to wait 10 minutes or more for someone to pick up when you call them. This is not too much of a big deal for me but I hope they will improve this in the future.

    While Bluehost has a good storage space (unlimited in most plans) they give way too many limitations which would keep you from taking full advantage of their unlimited plan. You cannot have more than 1000 MySQL database in your account, which means that you can’t really host more than 4 or 5 blogs that are based on Joomla or WordPress. I was also told by their support that you cannot have more than 140 connections to your site at a time, which means that if you would be getting a lot of traffic, you might end up in trouble. While the rates are quite competitive and the service is very good, you should really be aware of these limitations before you make a decision to get going with Bluehost. They are good for small hosting, but if you have a business site or several blogs they are definitely not the company that you should be doing business with.

    I have 4 websites hosted with Bluehost and I find this service to be very great. I however have had a few outages and there was a period in a day where I could not access my email for several hours. While this only happened once, I was really not happy with them that day. It seems that all the issues are fixed just like their support said, but you should be careful if you are thinking of using this company. They give very cheap hosting, but I can’t really say whether they are reliable or not, as I have only been with them for the past 3 months. I hope that I won’t have to change my web hosting company because of this. Their support, however were very helpful and friendly and have told me that this problem should not occur again. I wait and hope that it won’t, so in the meantime you should be careful when considerting Bluehost.

    Really great support at Bluehost. My site was hacked 2 times in a few months and when this happened their support was always available to fix the problem by restoring my site from the backups that they had. This company really knows how to provide excellent hosting service to their webmasters and I really noticed that when I spoke with their support. Their agents are always friendly and professional, were very helpful to get my site restored so as to minimize the amount of down time that I was having. I did not really do a comparison of their prices versus other web hosting companies but from what I see in other ads they seem to have very decent prices especially that they are offering unlimited service and have tech support that is really so great. Aside from the time when my site was hacked, which was not their fault at all, Bluehost always did everything very well on their end. So uptime was good and they really do respect their uptime guarantee as I have not had a single moment where my website went down!

Have contacted their support department for instructions on transfering the domain correctly as I wanted to make sure that I was doing everything the right way. Once again, everything went right, just like it should have. Support was very good they explained everything correctly. For the price that you are paying at BlueHost, you are really getting an excellent deal. Up to now, it has been 4 years since I have started using BlueHost as the main web hosting company for my sites. Everything has been going very well and so I recommend this web host very highly.

    This hosting company looks like a good choice but only if you have a very little site that does not get too much traffic. At the beginning I signed up with Bluehost and was just building my site, so obviously it was not very popular and did not get too many visitors. At that time, there was absolutely no problem getting reliable service and my site has always been available for my visitors. But once I started getting more traffic things took a turn for the worse. I noticed outages that were a lot more frequent and problems connecting to the database. When I contacted their support they essentially said that it was my fault as I was using too much server resources. That wasn’t entirely true, as my site was getting maybe 100 – 150 visitors a day at most. Luckily I have a cloud hosting provider that I use for some other websites so I immediately moved that site over there. I still have my Bluehost account as I use it to host a few mini sites that do not receive too much traffic. But I will probably be leaving them when the term that I have paid for (2 years) is finished. Quite simply this host is not recommended if you are doing anything that looks like serious business online. You will simply end up with too much trouble and will be left looking for a better host. I was lucky as I already had another place to move my site to, but if I haven’t I would really be in crap. Not too good on Bluehost’s part.

    Bluehost gave me a good hosting service when I was with them. Good reliability and I did not notice any outage. The only time that my site was inacessible is when they were doing some maintenance works on their servers and have advised all the users by email. Unfortunately I had to leave this company because I needed a dedicated server and not shared hosting, as I was adding too many websites and I didn’t want to stay with just a shared hosting service like they offer. But during all the time that I have been with them – 3 years – this web host has always been excellent to me. Speeds were very fast and FTP uploading worked really well. In fact I can even say that they are the best FTP hosting, because I have never seen upload speeds that were so fast before.

    BlueHost is terrible, just terrible. I am now starting to see the irony in their name. Because indeed, you will turn blue with rage if you use such a poor kind of web hosting service. In one year, just one single year my site has been hacked 3 times. I know a mate who was running a site which was just HTML and Flash with no applications and he also got hacked twice. This host doesn’t appear to even know how to secure their network. But it is not the hacking that is the major problem here. It is the fact that they love to blame their customers when a hacking attack occurs. They blame it on my site, even if I am running the latest update of WordPress with no 3rd party plugins or scripts running at all. I decided to get out of there and now have moved all of my hosting to Mocha Host. Strangely, nobody hacks my site anymore. This is too bad for BlueHost. Otherwise would have been a decent outfit with good plans and good speed of servers (when the site is not hacked, that is). Very bad and doesn’t seem to care too much about security, but more about how to expand their company and sign up new people. Avoid.

    We’ve had a site here for over two years and find their service to be amazing and really top grade. Bluehost likes to keep in touch with webmasters by sending them updates about the condition of their service as well as plans that they are making for updates, etc. With this you will always be informed when there are some periods of time where you can expect service disruptions, which actually are not frequent at all. Support very understanding and full of information about anything that you may want to ask related to your hosting with them. Highly recommended for business hosting, Bluehost is one of the few serious hosting companies left which knows what they are doing.

    Bluehost has always given me great hosting. There is nothing to really report about them, other than the fact that they provide unlimited web hosting at a very decent price. Maybe it is a little bit more than some of the other web hosting companies I have seen, but still the quality and price relationship is great here. Many of the Bluehost reviews say that this hosting company is very reliable and this is actually true. They provide good servers that are very reliable, so I have not suffered any down time at all with this hosting service.

    After using BlueHost for more than a year now I am very satisfied with their offerings. I switched from another hosting company because I was constantly having problems with their email forwarding. I am very thankful for the fact that such garbage does not happen at Bluehost at all! Whenever there is the slightest issue, you can contact the support so they can fix it. Also this host will let you know about the service status so if any of their features are not working right at the time, at least you will know that there is a known issue and that way you will not be left wondering as to whether it is you that is goofing up or whether it is their problem. Due to the great web hosting that this company provided me with, I am very glad to say that I will stay with BlueHost for a long time. They are now expanding their data center, which means that they have a lot more websites hosted right now and shows that people trust them to provide web hosting that will be consistent with their needs.

    Bluehost is a good hosting company and I have been using them for years now. This company is really great in the sense that they have made many improvements to their service over the years. Now that they have implemented Hosting resource protection, it looks like all of my sites run more smoothly than ever before. I no longer have any trouble with the service being slow or my site not being available. The support has improved as well, and now you don’t need to wait any more than just a few seconds to get to talk to an actual human being who will be there to help you. Previously, I would wait maybe 5 to 10 minutes, which was not so bad, but now I see that they have dramatically improved their web hosting service and everything that comes with it. I believe that there are a lot of hosting companies out there that could learn a good lesson from what Bluehost has done recently. Since their service has been so greatly improved in recent times, I am happy to say that I will be staying with them. I also recommend Bluehost for anyone that needs a good and reliable hosting company for their online projects.

    I see that Bluehost has been around since 1996, which shows that they have gained a lot of experience in the web hosting market. We have been using Bluehost for a few years and all of our sites have always worked well which has not always been the case with some other hosting companies. There have been no serious outages or functionality problems. Their Cpanel is fully customized to deliver exactly what you need for your hosting and the main features are all displayed prominently. Of course, all the other more advanced features are there. For WordPress hosting, they use Simplescripts which makes it very easy to install WordPress without any worries. Good blog hosting provider and also general web hosting!

    I’ve been using bluehost for about 1-2 years. I have about 6-7 CMS-driven websites running on their servers. For a very long time this have been my top-pick as far as shared web-hosting goes.

    Problems started about 6-7 months ago. Website sometimes doesn’t load at all, or it works so slow that it feels like Dial-Up. Thusually happens in late evening and continues to late night. I didn’t believe when people told me about this and complained about Bluehost – i usually defended Bluehost to the last breath. Till i ran into this same problem heads on. Since I’ve got so many accounts with Bluehost and I’ve been using them for a while, i will do the same thing as other have mentioned – give them time to work on their servers/bandwidth (I hope they intend to do so).

    Funny thing is… I recommended my current client to go with Hostgator, and also recommended that they take the Business version of shared hosting package. Figured it would be little bit faster, or maybe more reliable. And now i notice that sometimes it gets even worse than Bluehost, server barely coughs up pages. For this particular client I’m thinking of finding a decent VPS hosting package.

    BTW, I’ve also had some of my sites hacked on Bluehost, they are running Joomla CMS. This was done through SQL Injections, and it was because of my own stupidity that this happened. Joomla has a standard table prefix, which i didn’t change to different one. Also i didn’t change my default administrator username from “admin” to something else. When i located the back-door php script file that was left by the hacker in my root folder, it contained a standard SQL statement changing “admin” user’s password to a one of his preference. If i would’ve changed administrators username and changed the default jos_ table prefix to something else – then the initial SQL injection wouldn’t have worked.

    This is not something that Bluehost support, or any support for that matter should be solving for it’s customers. There are a lot of people who install Joomla, WordPress, Drupal or some other CMS with 1-click install that’s available in cPanel, then they install a template (also something out of 1-2 click repertoire) and they are left with a fully functional website that would have taken months to develop if it was 7-10 years ago. Then that gives them false illusion that they are web developers. And when something goes wrong they are lost, ’cause things like securing your CMS requires a bit more “seasoned” professional or at very least a semi-professional.

    So it wouldn’t be fair to blame the Hosting Company’s Support for their incompetence, when this is something that Support is not responsible in the first place. For $6/month it’s really pointless to ask for any serious IDS or other prevention measures for your site to be included in the price. WordPress and Joomla (for sure) have commercial extensions that handle IDS locally on your site, as as usual it’s one time payment to the extension’s developer… And what’s best you can take that IDS extension with you in case you change hosting. (Though as i explained above sometimes it just takes reading the manual’s “security” section very carefully and following few simple prevention measures)

    And if you are not using a Content Management System like Joomla, or Blogging Engine like WordPress… Then supposedly your site is custom coded? If you get hacked through SQL Injection means your code needs work, ’cause SQL Injection is usually a vulnerability that appears from poor coding standards. That’s even less of a responsibility of a Support Technicians.

    I am not happy with Bluehost as I have had quite a bit of trouble with them lately. Sure, some of you may say that the trouble I am in with them is my own fault and I can live with that, but I just wished I had known some truth about this place before I even started with them. In the beginning, my site was not too popular so the traffic coming to it was very limited. At that time, everything was going quite smoothly with Bluehost and there was never any downtime to speak of. But as the traffic grew, things got progressively worse and I began noticing a lot of downtime and database errors. It is almost as if they were doing it on purpose because they do not like people who have sites that are too popular or something. They then deactivated my website because they said that my databases were too big and that there were too many SQL queries. Did not offer any solution or anything and they basically implied that their hosting was not good for my needs. I immediately made plans to leave this mess behind and go with a good company. Now I am getting business hosting from Inmotion and all is going great right now. I really find it too bad that a company like Bluehost would pull of these things on their customers, but I guess that you have to live and learn.

    It has now been three years that I have had 2 of my websites hosted by BlueHost. This hosting is really good when you compare it to other shared web hosting providers. I believe that this hosting company is one of the most reliable web hosts that you could ever find, as they really have done a very good job of keeping my website active at all times of the day or night. With them, there has never been any serious down time. The maximum amount of time that my site was down was about one hour at night which happened a few months ago. For the rest, everything that they offered works perfectly well and just like it should. Very happy with the service that I have gotten from BlueHost and I am happy to say that I will keep using this hosting company in the future.

Unfortunately, I am leaving them because now I need to find a dedicated web hosting provider as shared web hosting is simply not enough for me.     I just canceled my account with Bluehost and I am glad to be done with this company. I signed up and was going to build my website in the next week. Then I got a call from them asking me to verify my information. They wanted me to give them the contact email that I used as well as verify which credit card was used to make the purchase. The thing is, I have 4 different cards that I use online and a few email addresses, so I wasn’t sure which one it was. The rep was very rude and was basically saying that I was trying to pull off a scam since I couldn’t even remember the informatio nthat I used when I signed up. The problem here is that they never told me that I would need to keep this information in case they needed it for “verification” or whatnot. I told them that if this is the case, they should just cancel the account and refund me, which they seemed reluctant to do. Weird, since they thouhgt I was scamming them, so why not simply give me the boot and end this? Finally I received my refund and was done with them. This is a hosting company that I would simply not recommend under any circumstance.

I used their support a few times, both by chat and phone and during all the times I dealt with them the issues were fixed rapidly.     Within 24 hours of using thier hosting service, I found my home address, personal cell phone, and email on a 3rd party site, which came up as a 4th hit on the google search of my name.

    I wouldn’t trust a site that sells your personal information without any notice. At this point anyone in the world could find out where I sleep at night in 7 seconds.

    Their home page at BlueHost says that they give web hosting at $3.95 a month. Nowhere does it say that it is a promotional price, a discount or any kind of special offer. I looked and there is not a star next to the price or anything. While you may not care about this now, it will matter when it is time to renew your service, because they renew it automatically while charging you a higher price that you probably didn’t know about until it is actually too late. When I contacted them about it, they told me that I should go check out the help page here: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/price which actually shows what the prices really should be. Sure I understand that a company could make a promotional price for when you sign up and then increase the rate later on, but what they did here is very bad. They should have at least advised me of this before and very clearly they did not. They believe that it was my responsibility to dig through their help pages in order to find the prices. All I have to say when dealing with BlueHost is buyer beware. You will pay more than double the initial cost when it is time to renew your plan with them.

But if you start running any applications like e-commerce tools (even the ones that they provide), then you will begin having negative issues. I noticed that when I started with a very simple site I never saw errors of any kind with my site. But then I installed TomatoCart and all of a sudden I was getting errors and server timeouts. There was nothing wrong with the installation and I was using pretty much the default template and settings of TomatoCart. So my site was purely a very simple e-commerce site that would not have caused too many problems anywhere else. But it seems that Bluehost doesn’t really like that and I was getting down time left right and center. When I contacted them they said that it is my fault. First time they said that it was my website and that I should optimize it myself to run correctly, even though I knew that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Second time they said that it is because the site I am hosting is using too much of the server and they proposed some upgrades which would make the price of my hosting go up to over $20 a month. For a little bit more I could have gotten a VPS hosting somewhere else, so I simply ditched them and went to another company. It looks like Bluehost is just playing little tricks to try to get you to upgrade or to stop using their services if your site is getting too big for their services. Then they could cram even more small sites on their server and thus make more money off their customers. Very sad that this company would act that way.

    I am now in the process of moving my websites to BlueHost. I already had one site with them but I will now be moving all of them to this company simply because of the great service that they gave me. I had a small issue with an e-commerce application and surprisingly they were able to help and resolved the issue at no cost to me. If I was still with my previous web host, they would have taken several days and then charged me $100 for support, as third party applications were not included. So I am very glad that I choose to be dealing with BlueHost as my service provider for my website. It makes me feel really great that I am finally dealing with an excellent hosting company and not one that is always greedy and simply wants your money. Way to go for BlueHost, they have shown me that there are still some great web hosting companies in existence out there.

    I am quite disapointed with BlueHost as of late. Their service looks like it is ok at the beginning, but if you expand your site to include CMS like Joomla hosting or Python hosting scripts and applications it then appears as if all hell simply breaks loose. There was a lot of down time for me when I was using them, which I really find not acceptable for a web hosting company that is supposed to be providing me with professional and good quality hosting. Their support were not very eager to resolve the issue and were always blaming things on the configuration of my site, even though there is really no problem with it and it was running fine when it was hosted with another company before. So I would not recommend this host at all to any other people at all for the time being, not until they make an effort to fix their servers and improve their customer service, which unfortuantely for everybody here I really doubt they will both doing anytime soon.

    I got a BlueHost package about 6 months ago. Their support was great, but a real disappointment was their conditions. You can only have total of 100 databases and there is a maximum of 200 000 files you can have in your account. Another big trouble that they gave me is that you can only create 1000 tables, whether they are MySql or Postgresql and if you go over that they will suspend your account. Without telling you that. This is really bad, as this is not mentioned clearly in their home page. It is only stated in their agreement, so you really need to read it carefully if you want to avoid any problems, especially if you are going to be building several sites or a big site.

    This would be a good web host if their support actually did the job that they were supposed to be doing in the first place, which is providing technical support to their customers. Unfortunately, this is really not the case here at BlueHost. I have had so many problems with their Cpanel that it is actually laughable that some sites consider BlueHost to be the most reliable and quality host out there. Good thing that at least on your site they are near the bottom of the top 10 web host list, but quite honestly they shouldn’t have a place on that list at all to begin with. Whenever I would use some of the features in their control panel, after about 10 minutes or so I would get a message that I was logged out and need to log in again. Have complained to their technical support about this and they keep saying that there is nothing wrong with their services. I even sent them a screen shot of the problem like they requested because they did not seem to believe me when I was telling them about the problem. So far, it has been going on week 3 and there is still no solution in sight from them. I guarantee that if this is no resolved soon I will be leaving for another hosting company very soon. I will just need to check out what their satisfaction guarantee is, but if they don’t want to give me my money back because of this garbage, I will definitely be complaining to them every single day until they get the message.

    The best thing about Bluehost is that they have good support that is based in North America. I have switched from 1&1 which uses support that has been outsourced to India and the cheapness of this shows quite badly. With my old host I have had nothing but problems and it took them hours to figure out even the most basic things. But after having been for 6 months with Bluehost there is not a single negative thing that I would have to say about them. I recommend them!

    The hosting quality here is good. There are no troubles getting my website to go up and to stay up like it should. Uploaidng the content was very rapid and the upload speeds are very good, faster than the previous host that I was using. The company is very reliable. In the 5 months that I was using them, there has never been a single time that my website went down for whatever reason. This shows that they place a lot of importance on reliability. Very good on their part.

    Could have been a good host if their staff actually tried to do their jobs once in a while. I was transfering my site to them and already the troubles were starting. Had to make 3 phone calls to support before actually getting this fixed. I kept getting logged out from email and Cpanel a couple of times for no valid reason. Their only response was that they are working on it and it should be fixed soon. However it looks like they are just making excuses for their problems and that they don’t want to fix anything. I am going to stay with themm until my 2 years is over. But when this happens I will be moving to a different company. I am already in the process of looking up a webhost that I can transfer my services to after I am done with them. They could have been one of the best hosting companies since they do have good server quality and fast speeds. Their prices are also very good, but I am looking to get a service that works and not counting pennies to see who has the lower prices in the world.

That’s really too bad for them, since I was using WordPress hosting with them, but I can’t reduce the CPU usage of my site. Logically, will not do anything to reduce the traffic of my own site. What has essentially happened in the past 2 months is that if you have a static HTML website, then you will be fine and will never face any issues. But use WordPress and you will get throttled in terms of RAM and CPU. Also, the speed of downloads and uploads on the server seems to have gone downhill in a significant way. I needed to remove all of the videos from my site and host them on an external hosting service for videos, similar to YouTube, because whenever they would be played off the Bluehost server, they would take ages to buffer and even then the videos would be choppy, buffering every 30 seconds or so. Obviously this just ruins everything for the user and this is not good when you start receiving complaints from your website visitors who are wondering what the heck is going on with your website. It looks like Bluehost doesn’t want anyone to use a content management system of any kind, even if they offer automatic downloads and installation of Joomla andWordPress and Drupal in their control panel. If you are only going to be building a static HTML website, then this host is for you. But otherwise, with the changes that thye have made recently, it looks like you can very well forget it, this is not the place for you, you only get trouble for that.

To put things simply, their server is super reliable and none of my customers have complained to me that there is problems with uptime, etc. Support is Bluehost’s best attribute, besides reliability. I know that some people here have posted bad reviews about the support offered by Bluehost, but honestly I am quite surprised by them! In all my years of using them I have never come across a bad technician. They are great. In fact, I accidentally deleted most of the content on a WordPress site that I had. I didn’t have a recent local backup, which would have been a big problem for me. However, Bluehost has stored many backups from my site, from yesterday, a few fdays ago a month ago, etc. They were able to restore the most recent version of my site. Iwas working with Matthew in their technical support department who was very reassuring and helpful when I was dealing with the whole situation. My site was back and running in less than 45 minutes. For this reason, I want to thank them for their excellent support and the efforts that they constantly made to help their customers. I have had other dealings with their technical support and customer service in the past, but I don’t really remember enough about them to be able to tell you about them here. I do remember, however that every time I contacted Bluehost, I was satisfied with the responses that I have received to my inquiries. So with all things considered, this is a great host!

    I am a Blue Host customer and have been since 1006. I host a total of 8 websites, mailing lists and about 24 email accounts on just one web hosting account with them. And let me tell you that at the low price of just $7.95 per month, it is really a bargain. I have recommended Bluehost to many of my friends and am now participating in their affiliate program which allows me to get paid for referring them to my friends and clients! The service that I got here has been absolutely FANTASTIC from the very first day! I am always aable to speak with knowledgeable people who can speak perfect English so I don’t have to repeat myself like a parrot on crack for them to actually get a grasp of what I am saying. Bluehost has always offered me a good web hosting service at a great price, which is the main reason why I will stay with them. They are very good.

Basically, I was using my account for email, as it was more professional for me to have my own email on my domain rather than using free email. Also since it was unlimited web hosting I was planning to use Bluehost in the future for hosting a new web store that I was planning on building. Then, all of this changed for the worse when I noticed that my website was unavailable and I couldn’t log in. I waited a few hours, thinking that this could be a technical problem, nothing big here. Then I contacted their support for the first time and I was really not impressed with how rude they were. First they told me that I was not respecting their terms of service and that my account was deleted. I asked them why. They said they can’t tell me and that I should go read their terms of service. He then told me that I must have been using my account to store files, which is definitely not the case. I told him to go through my account, see if there was any files being stored other than my email and website. I then told the support guy that is somebody did something wrong then it must have been that my website was hacked and I told him to investigate this. He then proceeded to tell me that this was not his job and that making sure that my site was secure was my own responsibility. I then called back about 15 times and finally I was allowed to speak to their supervisor, who seemed even more incompetent than the rest of the crew. He told me that there might have been some kind of mistake, but that all of my files are now deleted. I told him that I was paying for backup and that they should have the backup. He had no answer to this. Luckily, there was nothing too important in my email and my website could re built in less than 15 minutes, so it is not too much of a problem. Also my domain is NOT hosted at Bluehost, luckily, as I have made it a habit never to have my domain hosted on the same place that my website is, due to a similar, but not as atrociously stupid, experience that I had with another company last year. Basically, I am now going to do what would be completely logical to do given the circumstances and moving far away from Bluehost. I just need a cheap hosting service for my email and website and I am sure that there is a hundred webhosts available that are not complete trash like this.

    I host 2 simple websites on the Bluehost hosting package for the last 6 months. Their web hosting service and supporting are just excellent. I think t the p people here who were having problems with them simply have them because they were not paying any attention to the terms & conditions upon signup with them. Indeed, there are some limitations on the service. I reviewed the terms and spoke with their sales department before signing up to make sure that they would be working well with my websites. The maxiumum inodes is 200 000, which is quite good as some other web hosts have a limitation of 50 000 or even less. You can have a total of 100 databases in your account, as well as 1000 tables in the databases that you use. This is unlikely to affect the majority of users, but if you use Joomla hosting for example to create several photo blogs, then you should at least already be aware of what a database is and the fact that installing a content management engine in your account will take up several thousands of files already. But my 2 websites so far are well within these limits and I really had no trouble with them at all. They are simply great!

But when my business takes off, I think I will too, as I heard many complaints form others about limitations on their shared hosting.     Bluehost is one of the worst hosts that you can use and I really don’t know why you people would even have them on the list of the top ten web host even if it is near the bottom. If it was the list of top 1000 hosts and they were in place 995, then yeah that would seem logical. My complaint is not about the web hosting that they provide. It is acceptable and i’m not going to say that it is bad at all. When my sites were supposed to be working, they worked relatively well. I had 3 accounts with them having 4 or 5 sites hosted on each one. Most were just mini sites there to promote affiliate offers or to host pay per click ads. Last week, all of my accounts were hacked and the information changed so that I could not get back into the account and recover the passwords. I think the hacker may have been someone I worked with before that got greedy and tried to screw me over. Regardless of who did it and why, the way that Bluehost handled such a serious problem says a lot about their bad quality as a web host and why I would not recommend their services to anyone at all. They asked me to email my ID and credit card that I used to sign up. Sent email twice and they said they didn’t receive it. Sent it by fax again and was told to wait on hold for about 30 mintues until finally they said that one of their supervisors would be calling me back within an hour. Nothing happened after, so I had to call again, they told me they were very busy, blah blah, etc. They didn’t seem to understand that this was an important issue and if they did not fix this right away, the hacking will continue and more damage would be done to my websites. Finally, I was able to get ahold of someone who was capable of doing something and reverted the changes that were made by the hacker. He even gave me some good advice on improving security overall for my websites.

    But the way that Bluehost handled it really made my face blue from anger! I mean, what’s so complicated when someone reports that their site got hacked? All you need to do would be to suspend the site so that nobody gets in. After that, the site owner can submit their ID to regain control of the site, but why would you need to ask me to submit my ID and credit card before shutting down the site? I am not asking you to cancel the site completely, but merely to stop access to it! Since Bluehost has defied all human logic and went down the path of idiocy, I will be leaving this company. I don’t care if they refund the few months remaining in my service, I am gone! I recommend that anyone avoids Bluehost as well as their other company called Hostmonster. They are both the same so if something gets hacked, then they will cause you nothing but headaches. Now I also read in webmaster forums and such that their security plain sucks as well! I;m not sure how the hacker got in, but if it was due to a gaping hole in the Bluehost security, then I wouldn’t be surprised at all. If all you do is build a website to show pictures of your kitten playing with your puppy, then sure you can choose Bluehost, it won’t matter. But if you are actually doing any form of business online and your website is important for you then run away! These idiots have made me lose an entire day of profits from my sites and it looks like there is only one intelligent person working in their entire building. I want to thank Allan for his immediate action once I called for the 5th time, but will obviously be leaving to find a better host.

    Now that I’ve tried Bluehost, I feel like they are a decent host for that price. So as long as you remember that this is shared hosting and you’re not the only one on their server, you will likely be fine. My website isn’t too demanding and only has a few pages of data, so I’ve never ran into any trouble with them.

    This used to be a reliable host and I even think that they used the slogan “The Reliable Host” in their advertising. But as of late their performance is really gotten awful. Many times during the day, if you are using the FTP connection it would just drop for no reason. Same thing goes for Mysql so this will affect any sites that need a databse to run. This is going on for several weeks now and I am soon out of here. Not recommended at all.

    Good service here. All sites ran well there were of them on my account. Too bad I had to cancel as I sold these sites to a member of a forum who had his own hosting. But otherwise I would have continued. My service at Bluehost was just great.

I complained many different times to their tech support but their answer is pretty much that there is nothing they could do about it. There was a time about 3 years ago where their hosting service was really excellence and a model for other web hosts to follow. But now things are much different. They use a proxy to route all their outgoing mail, but the problem is that their proxy ips are blocked and blacklisted all over the place. For example, ip address 69.89.22.20 and 66.14.249.253. I get plenty of messages that simply bounce back saying that connections from that IP are not accepted by the remote server. Upon doing some research, found out that the resons behind this was their email service was used by a bunch of Rusiian hackers to send spam and distribute trojans. Go figure. I also read many more recent reviews and the funniest thing about them is that I saw users complaining that they were kicked off after they were running a website hosting their own videos, where Bluhost was claiming that they were doing piracy. Funny thing, they kick off users who upload videos that they own the copyright to, but it looks like spammers and scammers aren’t kicked out fast enough and all of their ip addresses ended up on various blacklists all over the place. I asked if I could pay more to just get a dedicated ip so I could send my mail from it, but it seems like they can’t or don’t want to do this for me. Because of their utter incompetence in handling their service, I am now switching to a different host.

    I have two websites hosted with Bluehost, one is for my business and the other one is for my personal website. Both are easy to update and manage when necessary. Considering that I get unlimited hosting, the price is quite good. All the options that you should get in Cpanel are there I’ve used other web hosts before and they had similar feautres in their control panels, so it doesn’t look like anything is missing. Their help ysstem is actually quite good, as they have some really useful video tutorials and helpfiles, as well as a responsive forum. You can chat online with a real representative at any time of the day or night. They respond in less than a minute and as far as my service went, they were always able to answer my questions. They were very helpful and stayed with me until the problem was fully resolved. I know that some of you have reported problems with their service, buit in my experience, everything has been very positive and worked really well, so I can only thank them for the great quality service that they’ve provided me with so far. Up until now, everything went really well, so I have really nothing to complain about.

    I signed up with Blue Host based on the recommendation of a friend and in the first 2 months all seemed to be going quite well. However today my websites are down and it has been several hours of this. I can’t even access my admin panel for the most part. I contacted their support and they sent me a canned response saying that one of their system admins said that it would be fixed within 1 hour. After that 1 hour, I was able to log in to my control panel and the server status says that everything is fixed, but my website is still not able to load and I once again had to contact their support to try to fix this huge issue with their service. This time I tried calling them and spoke with their tech support. They werent mean or anything, but just couldn’t do anything to fix this and said that their admins were working on fixing it right now. It has been more than 3 hours and they are apparently still working on a fix. Now I see how they could promise that they have a 99.9% uptime guarantee. In the control panel it says that everything is fixed and the server is up, but all of my sites on their server are indeed quite dead. I hope that this is not something that will be happening again in the future, but from what it seems like it is off to a really bad start with Blue Host.

    Good host for basic websites. I have 2 HTML sites and they run very fast. Not sure what happens if you were to run a commerce site that has an engine like Magento, but I have my own server somehwere else for that. Just run my 2 basic websites here as not to overload my other server. Never needed any support from them can’t comment on support quality. But the fact that I didn’t need any support should tell you a lot that they are a good hosting provider since if you dont have problems than logically you will never need to speak to their support anyways!

    Been with Bluehost on and off for a period of time so I got a good look at this company, which is the same one which runs Hostmonster and I think they also run one other hosting company that I don’t emember . When I registered my account in the first place it was about 3 years ago. During that period Bluehost was known to be an excellent hosting provider and they had the best support in the industry. They also had the best reliability and this was noted in many forums and posts on blogs. But lately I would say in te past few months things have been going on and off for them. I donttt know if this is because of their aggressive strategy to decrease the prices and gt more customers on board, they look like they are doing nothing short of completely overloading their servers. If you have any more than say 40 visitors per day on your website they wwill start throttling you down so that everything comes grinding to a screeching halt. This is even worse if you are running a Joomla site. Then they try to sell you an uprgade that supposedly gives you acess to more CPU power, but at a high cost of course. Now it seems they want to capitalize on personal users who will just have 2 friends visiting their site per week. When I tried to talk with them about this and considering the fact that I am a long time customer of their I kind of expected a good response and some understnding. Unfortunately none of this came from them. I just got a canned answer which basically was copy pasting from their FAQ on CPU usage. They basically said that it is your responsibility to run your website in a way that doesn’t use too much of their arbitrary rules on CPU. I have 3 similar websites which are hosted over at Host Gator and they never experience such a problem, ever. Now its almost as if the good folks at Bluehost want me to rewrite Joomla in an out so that it doesn’t use as much CPU. Of course I am canceling this hosting soon and will be moving my websites over to an account I have at Hostgator, as I have 2 accounts them and for now one of them is just sitting idle and not doing anything, kept it from a website that I closed a month ago. Very bad business strategy for Bluehost to tick off their existing business customers and simply flood their servers with new users.

    So far, Bluehost has been good for my company. There’s 2 websites that I host with them and all are doing well. Things are very easy to manage and keep up to date. The price is very good for the service received. All the options in their Cpanel work extremely well. I give them two thumbs up, they’re excellent!

    Having 2 accounts at Bluehost, one for me and another one for a client, I can say that this host is one of the best web hosts you will find online. Prices are OK but what really makes a difference is the amount of support material available to their customers. Great video tutorials and help pages make this a host aht you will actually be proud and happy of using. There’s also a very good discussion forum on their site so if you have questions, others can help you out with things such as running your website or using a CMS like with WordPress hosting. Their support is very fat and answers most of the time in less than a minute. Great company and recommended.

    Wouldn’t recommend Bluehost. They make you think that it’s unlimited when you sign up and even when you talk to them prior to signing up, no matter what you ask them they’ll always say that the service will be right for you, but unfortunately you’ll soon find out the hard way that it isn’t. Signed up with this company 4 years ago when they had mostly positive rankings and everything was good. They were a relatively new company and were expanding their operations. They never used to harass their customers about what you’re using on their server, but now the only thing they do is ban your account and keep your money. If you use anything with SQL, better make sure that the database doesn’t have more than 50 tables, or they will cancel your account. If you have a website that uses more than 1 GB, which is easy if you’re hosting a lot of pictures, flash or interactive content, your account will get suspended for a few days until the abuse department (yeah ‘abuse’ because they’re mostly abusing YOU) will get a chance to look through your files one by one to see whether you’re using it for web hosting or not. Now seen many users get their accounts canceled because Bluehost decided that they weren’t using it for hosting properly but were simply storing files on their server. If you make a manual backup of some files and databases, this is what will happen to you. They will cancel your account, say that you’re abusing the service by storing too many files and then you go out the door with no refund and no chance to get your service restored. I was building one website and it wasn’t even fully finished yet. But apaprently I was using too much of their “unlimited” service and they kicked me out. If they didn’t like what I was doing, they could have at least sent me an email with an explanation of what the problem was, so that we could see if there’s a way to correct the issue before and I would’ve stayed a customer with them. But it all looks like Bluehost doesn’t really care too much about their customers for that to happen. If all you want is to host a website with 3 HTML pages and 2 visitors per week, then they’ll gladly be your host and you’ll both be happy. But have anything more than that and they’ll not want to do business with you and neither should you want to have anything to do with their either.

    I was hosting a website with Bluehost before, left them last year not because of any problem with their quality of web hosting, but because I got no more need for the site at the time. This was in early 2011, so I’m not too sure if things have changed with them or not by reading some of the things about them on the internet. But I would like to say that in my experience things were rather good. There wasn’t any time where my website was not accessible like it should be or anything like that. I was mainly using it for email and my site was very simple and for that the email worked very well. No problem setting up my own email client to retrieve the messages or anything else. Wasn’t receiving too much spam, but the one that did come through all got trapped into the spam folder, so that wasn’t a major hassle for me either.

    This company is OK in my book. The price is very low and when I signed up they have some type of promo code where you just pay a bit over $3 per month for the hosting, the domain is included in the price and there was no installation or set up fee of any kind. That’s really one of the good parts about Bluehost, because it’s affordable even today, they didn’t raise their rates for new customers really. A little thing that is lacking is their reliability. While I would rate it as “good”, there have been quite a number of times where I needed to complain to their technical people about the site being very slow in loading times. Granted, this doesn’t happen every single day of the week, but a good 3 or 4 times a month. If you really need your site to be accessible at all times, then you may want a company that is slightly more in the reliability department than them.

    I’m having a problem with Bluehost that I really don’t think this host is willing or even interested in solving. The problem is that many of the legitimate email messages that I receive are marked as spam and sent to the spam folder rather than to my inbox. No, these are not newsletters or anything that could be misconstrued as spam, but genuine communications from clients and partners of my business. To make things worst, the people that you speak with in their customer support department seem to know really next to nothing when it comes to how their own email service is supposed to work. When I asked if there was someone more senior that I could speak to that actually knows what they’re doing, they told me that they’ve done all they could do and that their spam filters are provided by another software company and not them and therefore anything that happens is “not their fault”. These were really their words. Now if you’re a hosting company, you’re supposed to work with the partners that provide services to you in solving problems that affect your customers. Imagine if their internet connection goes down over at their data center and their reply would be “oh it’s our ISP that’s messing up all the time, too bad there’s nothing I can do to help”. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they would try to pull off such a garbage stunt on their clients considering their poor performance lately. I’m definitely changing hosts now and I’m just waiting to find a hosting company that actually performs decently and helps their customers. Bluehost may have been a good company to be doing business with a few years ago but now I noticed that unfortunately things have just gone downhill with them.

    Bluehost is a very good hosting company. I’m now using their pro service which is $19.99 per month but gives excellent value and things that with other companies would be a lot more expensive in total, such as better anti spam as well as free backup service. Also, their pro service gives you more CPU and RAM resources on the server, which is very useful if you’re going to be running an e-commerce website that will be using up more resources than just a standard website. It’s like having VPS hosting without the limitations in disk space and bandwidth and also a lot easier to administer yourself as the control panel is the standard one just like you would get with their regular shared hosting accounts. Good to find a hosting company that meets the needs of power users that need more than what a regular shared account can offer without needing to move to a dedicated server. Many of the other cheapest web hosts don’t offer such a service and this is why they’re behind when it comes to serving their business clients. Support is available any time of the day or night and when you submit a ticket to support at Bluehost they reply within a few hours, much faster than the competition. I’ve used plenty of hosting account with different hosts and I can say that Bluehost is seriously among the very best in their field.

    The bluehost has good service qualities but the problem i see now that its getting overpriced. The rate is $5.95 per month, which they reduce from $6.95. this discount is really laughable, now that other hosts can give a good hosting service for less than a price of $4 I think it is time I quit when my contract is going for the expiration date. really this company needs to think about better promotion for their customers!

Signed up last year and was paying about $5 a month for a 12 month period. That was good, even though it was more expensive than some cheapest web host companies you could find. But now, their service has gone even more and more expensive and this is really getting out of hand. They want me to pay around $10 per month for hosting because I’m not a new customer. Now if they were some kind of superb web host that gave services that nobody else on Earth had, then maybe I would have considered staying and renewing my subscription to Bluehost. But they really aren’t that special compared to other hosting companies and by reading their comments they’ve had their share of dissatisfied customers as well.

    My own experience when I was using Bluehost wasn’t so bad, their server worked relatively well and my webiste stayed up nearly all the time, but of course, there has been times where things were slow and some of their features in the control panel were also very slow and would time out. This gets really anoying when you’re trying to upload some files to your site and you have to refresh the file manager serveral times before you can finally get that damn thing to work like it’s supposed to. In any case, the reason why I’m leaving them is not their service itself, as it was pretty much standard, but rather their price increase. It’s really too bad for them that they don’t seem like they care about keeping an existing customer who would have stayed with them if they didn’t try to over charge like they do now.

    I really should have been more careful about choosing my web host, so I wouldn’t have ended up with a garbage company like BlueHost. They advertise themselves as being one of the most reliable hosting businesses online, but this just isn’t true. I don’t know how things were before with this host, but right now it’s quite simply awful. The site is slow to load all the time and the speed has gone down quite a bit over the past couple of months. But this isn’t the main problem. Now I’m having trouble receiving my email. Many of my emails are getting sent to the spam folder rather than to the inbox, or not received at all. Bluehost tech support is saying that the problem must be on the end of the sender and wouldn’t do anything good to help me. This is the reason why I wouldn’t recommend this host to anyone. You’ll just have way too many problems.

    My business has been dealing with Bluehost for several years. We own 2 retail locations and use them to host a presentation of our products online, as well as we use their email service to communicate easily with out customers. We were able to find Bluehost after browsing for some companies that could give services we needed. Our ISP wanted to charge us over $20 a month for a simple website with just 500 MB or storage and 5 email boxes, while Bluehost is able to do unlimited hosting and unlimited email for less than $7 a month! This is really a bargain considering what we’re getting from them. As far as their service reliability goes, I know that this is a concern for many of you but we never ran into any issues with the 2 of our sites. When they do any maintenance on their serviers, they always send out a notification message to their customers prior to the fact so that they can be aware of what is going on and not be left in the dark, unlike some of the other hosting businesses that don’t really communicate well with their customers at all.

    I’ve been with BlueHost for years now. No issues, this is the best host ever. Very reliable and their support answers the phone immediately when you call them. Support is American based so you don’t have to worry about talking to an Indian that you need to spend 10 minutes figuring out every sentence of what he tells you. All is easy to use as well with their service and they recently updated their help information to make things easier to find if you need instructions on using their services. My overall rating would be that this is a perfect host, as I’ve never had any trouble with them at all.

They respond to me very rapidly to all of my inquiries either by email or phone, even at night. Needed a few things clarified when I was busy building my website and it was really a good feeling knowing that they’ll always be there for their customers when they’re needed the most. This is the main reason why I now recommend Bluehost to everyone. If you look around you will see that this company has a stellar reputation when it comes to customer services. The service reps were very well trained to take me through the entire process and were patient in explaining how everything would work.     Very simple web host service to use. Blue Host is easy and great on their reliability. When there’s an update they maintain a blog which always communicates the important information to their customers if ever you could expect a few minutes of down time, for example. I chose Blue Host because of their excellent reputation for reliability and now I notice that I’m not the only one. Feel lucky to make such a good decision considering that I didn’t know too much about web hosting when I was in the process of getting started with them. ,

    Being with Blue Host left me Blue in the face after dealing with the idiocy found in their technical support. Not helpful at all and they blame every issue on the customer. They suspended my website twice because they thought my site was sending spam even though it wasn’t. Their service is very bad and for the price that they’re charging now, close to $6 you can get much better elsewhere. Forget about Blue Host.

    Bluehost is one of the best hosting companies I’ve dealt with in a long time. I was with other hosts for the past 5 years and what made the difference with Bluehost is their customer support and also their reliability of service. Never had any time where my site was down for hours on end like when I was using Justhost last year. Only bad thing that happened was that my website, along with a few other websites on one of their servers got hacked. However their support got in touch with me right away and they informed those affected that they would be rebuilding their server from backup and everything would be restored within a few hours. Sites were back up in less than 3 hours. Wasn’t fun experience but it seems like they’ve done what should have been done to restore service as quickly as possible. From their updates on the Bluehost company blog, they’ve also been putting together new security features and firewall for their server to prevent another hacking problem from taking place again. Bluehost just seems like a company that cares about the satisfaction of their customers which I found lacking in the other web hosts I’ve been using so far. This is why I’m going to be staying with them for all of my websites.

    Host 2 medium traffic blogs with BlueHost at this time. The first one I have had for about 6 years and now has been with BlueHost for over a year since I joined them. Their service truly is excellent and deservers a mention here. While I was getting used to constant troubles with other hosts, BlueHost proved to me that not all of the hosting companies are the same and that some of them are actually capable of giving some great services to their customers. 24/7 support can always be reached by phone or by live chat. Another great element of their services is that all of their support is done in North America and is not outsourced like so many of the cheapest web hosts right now.

    Been using Bluehost now for over a decade. They’ve changed but for the better. They’re one of the few companies that actually managed to stay stable all the while they grew. Sure, there were some periods of ups and downs just like with other hosts, but they’re nothing compared to some of the other nightmares I’ve seen with other hosting and internet service companies in general. Our company manages websites for plenty of different clients in various industries, so I’ve had to deal with a lot fo web hosts in the past decade. Problems were too many to name… hosting companies which were simply dummy corporations with a website but had no infrastructure of their own (you would be surprised how often this happens and when a so called great host is actually nothing more than a rented server that’s managed by a 20 year old guy out to make a few bucks), no real support, problems transfering domains due to shady domain registrars being used, etc. By using Bluehost, I actually managed to avoid all these problems. Yes, there were a few periods where one of our websites were down but this was something that happened very rarely. And yes when calling tech support you might get the occasional tech who doesn’t seem to be too bright. But these are exceptions and not the rules and a company shouldn’t be judged solely by its exceptions like some others seemed to be complaining about on here. My experience with them simply shows that Bluehost is excellent.

    Very reliable hosting. BlueHost is the host of my choice because of just that, their reliability. Coming from Justhost where my website was down every couple of days for several hours, it was quite a relief to see that BlueHost is much different and actually keeps their servers running well without any serious problems. Their control panel was very easy for me to figure out and even for some non technical users it will be very simple to get started. They provide some excellent information about their services and they’re very good over all.

    I’m done with Bluehost. Finished. This has been one of the worst experiences with a web host that I’ve had in a really long time. Getting started was easy so I will give them credit for that. But it was after that the problems started coming in big time. I had some videos on one of the blogs that I had with them. These were hosted on Vimeo and not on their servers at all. They shut down my site claiming that the videos were pirated, while they were all public domain videos. They said they’ve received complaints about unauthorized use of the videos. When I asked them to actually forward to me the DMCA complaint as would be required, they never did this, and simply said that it was a mistake and they’ve reactivated my site. Strange. I also had another blog that mostly dealt with political issues and included criticism of several parties and leaders. Bluehost shut down my account again, claiming that someone complained about my site and that it was “threatening” and “libelous”. No, I’m not part of some radical fringe movement that aims to create anarchy, the blog simply contained some political commentary, as well as satirical cartoons and videos which were all public domain. Eventually Bluehost just canceled my account. The bottom line is, if all your website contains is pictures of puppies and kittens you should be fine with Bluehost. Anything else and your site will get shut down if one hippie feels that your site is “too scary” for them and wets their pants. This isn’t a serious hosting company at all. I now moved all of my sites to a hosting company in Europe that has a good reputation for hosting websites with various controversial topics such as religion and politics. Now the hippies can whine all day about my site and it won’t get shut down. The point of all of this is stay away from Bluehost.

    I’m having constant problems with Bluehost and until now things have really gone from bad to worse. First, they keep sending legitimate email to the spam folder, with no way of me adjusting the settings. Their customer support team knows practically nothing about hosting at all which is also part of the problem with them. They have been having strange issues with their control panel lately too. Sometimes hwen you will click on something then nothing happens. You have to refresh the page a couple of times before you actually get it to work. Even after sending them an email complaining about the whole thing, it’s still going on. Sent them an email to see if they could give me some compensation for the problems since it all appears to be on their end and has nothing to do with my websites. Not surprinslgy, got nothing at all as reply. Their service isn’t even the cheapest around. Bluehost actually costs more than other companies and I’m now paying $5.95 per month. Good thing I found your website so at least I can make a comparison on some of the other web hosts you can get online and see which ones are actually worth dealing with. Clearly, Bluehost isn’t one of them at all it would seem.

    When it comes to performance related issues Bluehost still is among the best companies that I used so far. With other hosts I constantly ran into the issue that e-commerce sites and forums were operating way too slowly and timing out due to the access to the database being too slow. Obviously this was really annoying. But the infrastructure at Bluehost is capable of supporting even the most demanding websites without too many issues. Got two WordPress websites hosted with them, complete with plugins and other add ons and there’s never been much of a problem getting things to work. So due to all of this I will say Bluehost is my best choice for web hosting. Never a single problem with them in all of the years that I’ve been with the company. I would like to thank them for the services provided so far and hope that it will continue on.

    If I compare them to all other hosting companies I’ve used so far, Bluehost is definitely the best and most powerful. I’ve never had a single instance of down time at this place which seemed to be a common occurance at other companies that I had before them. While I admit that the price is not the lowest at Bluehost, it’s still good. In fact, you can see many other hosts charging $10 a month or more for the exact same services that Bluehost gives! Quite simply, I will tell you that Bluehost is my top choice for web hosting and I have no reservations about using them again for my new sites. I have 3 sites on my account at this time and I’m paying less than $6 a month after renewing my service after the first two years with them. The customer service is excellent and all of my questions are answered very fast.

    I’ve been with Bluehost for 1 year now. This hosting provider in certainly one of the best that I’ve been using thus far. Each time that I had a question about my service their technical support team was always available. When you call them they answer immediately and you always deal with an agent that can actually speak English as opposed to someone in a foreign based call center. It’s always good to know that you’re going to be dealing with a company that is providing you with excellent customer support quality. Since I’ve signed up with Bluehost there hasn’t been any issue as far as their reliability goes. The service here was always very good and I’m proud to be one of their customers. I especially want to thank their customer support team for what they’ve done for me in the past few months, they were amazing.

    I think WebHostingPad is more suited for users whose needs are really basic. I know that the majority of small time web masters don’t use features like Cron Jobs, however it is necessary for me to update some content on my site. It looked like it wasn’t available, but after talking to them they have to enable it manually, which they did for me. Still would have appreciated if it was there from the start, would have saved both of us some time. Also, regarding FTP, it’s not possible to create separate FTP user and password accounts. This would have been nice to let some of our workers upload content to certain sites directly. Whiel the hosting options at WebHostingPad work 100% of the time with no major incident, this service isn’t really geared towards professional users, but mostly for personal and really small business web sites.

    My service has been with Bluehost for well over a decade now and right now I still have many of my websites as well as client sites hosted with them. It surprises me a lot to see some of the bad reviews left by some of the users here. I’ve experienced my share of poor quality hosting but it wasn’t really with Bluehost. Most of the really bad hosts online right now are small companies that are run by “entrepreneurs” who think they will become big in the hosting arena but in reality don’t actually know what they’re doing or how a web host is supposed to be run. The only problems I’ve had with BH were a few cases of down time on some of my websites but it wasn’t really that big deal as the websites were restored after less than 15 minutes. To me Bluehost should at least be in the top three best web host ratings.

    I’m having an ongoing problem with BlueHost right now and I’m really puzzled as to what I should do. To be honest I can’t complain about their hsoting service in itself because it’s reliable just like they claim. But it’s my email that’s not working right. Plenty of legitimate emails that I’m supposed to receive either never arrive, are marked as spam even though they’re emails addressed directly to me and not some kind of “spammy” stuff like newsletters or promos, or arrive hours later. With outgoing email there has been similar issues as well. Some of the recipients never receive my emails, others don’t get the attachments even though I put them in and they were legitimate .DOC office documents, or the email arrives several hours late too. BlueHost support said they would investigate, but there doesn’t seem like there’s going to be a resolution. When I asked to speak with one of their supervisors, I was passed on to somebody else that told me basically the same thing. If I don’t get some idea of how to get this fixed, then the obvious solution would be for me to change hosts and ditch BlueHost. I’m satisfied with their hosting, but it’s their constant issues with email that annoy me to no end and I really need to have e-mail as part of my business. I’m just wondering if anybody here has had the same or similar issues with them right now or in the past and how it got fixed.

    I’m done with Bluehost and my stay with them wasn’t a very good one during the whole year. First of all getting up and running was a complete mess. They disabled my site right from the beginning and then asked me to send identification and credit card copies. Had to do this twice because the first time they claimed that nothing was received. Then had problems getting the email to work with my domain. Took almost a week to get sorted out as technical support was quite useless. I wouldn’t recommend this host to anybody here. For the price that they charge now, you will find much better web hosting with different providers. Bluehost is just not worth the time wasting and frustration that you will go through if you decide to host with them. I really should have done my research more before jumping in here.

    Even though I’m completely happy with all the aspects of the web hosting service given by Blue Host, I would like to put the emphasis on their customer service. This is what really amazed me with their company. Customer service is also what makes the difference between an average host and a great one and Blue Host definitely has it. Rapid answers to any question and rapid resolution of any problem that you can report to them are all what made Blue Host my first choice for web hosting. I’ve never had a different host come even close to what they provided me so far. Great in all aspects and I just hope that they will continue on that way.

    Bluehost is fine but it’s a little pricy. Now that my service has been renewed I’m paying about $9 per month for their unlimited package. I know this isn’t too much but they could do better when offering renewal offers especially when you’re already their customer. But the service is very good which is why I’m staying with them at the present time for all of my websites.

    Compared to the past host I had, Bluehost is a lot more reliable and customer services are much more responsive. At least you get a good answer to your question in a timely manner as opposed to just getting an automatic reply that never resolved anything. When I signed up there was a promotion so I get to pay about $4 per month until next year. After that we will see what the price is and if it’s still reasonable than I will stay around with Bluehost and renew my services with them again.

    Looking at overall hosting quality I believe Bluehost is good. I just used 2 other hosts in the past so I don’t have that much to compare them to and the other hosts were performing relatively well. My site was uploaded quickly using their web based tools, however you can of course use FTP if there are a lot of files to transfer. Editing the website code on the fly was easy, such as when adding stats tools and some banners right away without having to re-up the whole page. Making a local backup of the site worked well even though it was a tad slow at times to download, however the essential was that the pages loaded fast for me and the website visitors. I never called them nor did I send them email as there were no technical issues I needed help with. Price is good over all for the good services of this company.

    Nice host that does everything correctly! Never any down time or problems with my email here unlike 1 & 1 where I alsways had trouble getitng email to the right box for some reasons. Glad that when I switched the host I decided on, which is Bluehost worked much much better than the other host I got before. Needed a bit of help with the file uploader and was given a good solution. Did not wait for the tech support rep to get on the chat it was instant in less than one minute. Speed of service is always appreciated especially when you got used to waiting several minutes to get served with other providers at least Bluehost is instant in helping you.

Eventually I told the guy to F off and that I wouldn’t need their service anymore. He didn’t seem the bit fazed by this almost as if he was used to getting told off by customers who have enough of Bluehost bullshit. If you’re looking for good advice on choosing your next web host then I would give some to you right here: don’t sign up with them. They’re not even cheap anymore so it’s simply NOT worth the trouble they will cause you. The only thing I’m glad about when looking at Bluehost is the fact that I left this sorry excuse for a web hosting company a week ago and so that way I no longer have to deal with their garbage service, rude staff and constant down time.

    I’ve been dealing with Bluehost for a while now and it’s good so far. I admit I’ve only been with them for 1 month now after ditching GoDaddy because of too many problems, but so far it seems to be good enough. I called their support twice in the past month that I used their service and noticed a big difference between them and what GoDaddy used to provide for me. With Bluehost the agents are at least interested in answering your question instead of trying to get you to hang up as fast as possible. They took the time to answer all of my questions just to make sure that I was using the right tool for the job.

    I really don’t have any idea how this company managed to stay in business for so long given their poor record. I’m not the only one complaining there are many others with problems regarding Bluehost and their other company Hostmonster. I think they have another partner company as well but I forgot their names. Anyways the problem is their reliability going down the tubes. Sometimes for 3 hours or so the service would become unavailable . Support support answers rudely when you inquire about it and they just say they don’t know when it will be fix and to keep trying in one hour. This is not acceptable for a professional web hosting business. They shouldk know know how to run their operations much better than that junk. Avoid this hosting. Not good at all too many down periods with them and this happens very often now.

    Today I had another problem with Bluehost and this was the second time in a month where this happens. Site was down and then was very slow to load. The support tech in the live chat seemed to have no idea of what he was talking about. Claimed that it was Word Press plug ins that were responsible for the problems. Of course this isn’t the case, since no changes were made to the plug ins at all. I am thinking of just trying to get my money back and move on to another better host. Too bad I got convinced into signing up for Bluehost as the y are not good at all.

    Positive things about BlueHost is that their service is very simple to use and priced well enough to be better than a lot of the competing web hosts. I switched from free web hosting and the hosting is much better at BlueHost. They have their moments though when you can experience a slow down in the control panel but your websites don’t seem to be affected by this at least.

    For a host Bluehost looks like it’s simply going downhill and continue on a downhill spiral from here where nothing can be done to rescue this company from the mess that they themselves have gotten into. Changing terms of service and terms of promotions at their convenience as well as mistreating their customers seems to be standard practice of Bluehost web hosting services. If you want to experience first hand what bad customer service looks like then you should make a trip to Bluehost and contact them after you’ve signed up for an account and paid them. You will rapidly see that they don’t care about their customers. Therefore, they’ve ended up with a brand where loyalty of customers is just plain zero. Avoid at all costs. There’s many better options for you out there so why would you want to make yourself and your business suffer with a bad quality host like this? Simply doesn’t make sense to me at all.

    Not good for WordPress hosting at all. I’ve been hosting with them for over a year now and Bluehost has to be the absolute worst of more than 10 other hosts that I’ve used in the past couple of years. If you have a WordPress blog that has just 3 plugins and has caching on, you can’t go more than 200 or so visitors before you start hitting the CPU limit. Then they throttle you which would make your site excessively slow and inaccessible for some of your visitors. Bluehost overselling their space is the only explanation for this. Otherwise, you can’t explain how all the other companies are able to provide a decent service without throttling you down after a small number of visitors. They then try to charge you a ludicrous amount of money to get access to more resources that were supposed to be included in their package in the first place as they love to claim that it’s everything unlimited for everyone. If your site uses a database, my advice is summed up as: avoid avoid avoid Bluehost!

    I’m willing to admit it when I make mistakes, unlike BlueHost. Stay away from them and their sister compan y HostMonster, plus they have another dedicated web hosting company I think but their name escapes me at the moment. The hosting service provided by BlueHost is OK. Nothing too fancy, nothing too great but it worked until a month ago when disaster started. I used to run a site that would report on recent news at the national and international level, plus had some affiliate offers. All the news articles were either written by me or taken from free sources that specifically allowed them to be republished without restrictions. Same goes for any pictures, graphics, etc. on the site. BlueHost suspended my account alleging that I violated copyright and didn’t seem to believe me that I personally wrote some of the entries. This was finally resolved. Now again a problem started. Somebody reported my website as being “hate speech”. False again. Site was down for 2 days while their “security” team investigated my website. Then they said that there was some inappriopriate language in the comments. Really? This is a site that’s read by adults anyways, not Barney’s playground site. So what if someone compared a politician to an animal in the comments? Apparently they disagree. They let me take all of my files and move them to another host. Of course, I’m not getting any refund it seems but at this time this isn’t something I care about anymore. My point here is to use another host not anything related to BlueHost or any of the other brands they own.

    You can get a Bluehost coupon if you want to pay less than their current price and this will give you affordable hosting that is of the best quality. This is a serious company and they care about their business customers. Now have 3 websites hosted on a shared hosting account that work all the time. Never had a problem with Bluehost and their support was very professional when contacted by live chat. Definitely recommended to all of you here.

    If you want the cheapest web host then keep searching as I see that they’ve got prices higher than the competition. But if you want a reliable web host then Bluehost is the answer. I signed up with them after reading some comments on a forum about how reliable they were and it’s really great that I was able to find Bluehost out of all the hosts in the world.

    Seriously, don’t use Bluehost. First, they’re not even cheap. I’m paying $9.95 per month after my first year was up. They say that the price listed on their home page is only for new customers. Looks like customer loyalty actually means nothing to them. The service has degraded itself at this host in ways that you couldn’t even imagine. Page load times at Bluehost are getting slower and slower. All the while they’re claiming that they’ve made updates of some sorts to their servers. Sorry, but I just don’t believe that. Then, they deactivated my website because apparently it was sending spam. Took them a whole day to find out that it actually wasn’t. When spoken on the phone they are very rude and unhelpful. They just provide short answers without making you feel like you;re dealing wit ha good company here. If there’s anything else I could say about Bluehost it’s that you must avoid this host at all costs. Believe me, the problems that you will get with them aren’t funny at all. It just won’t be worth it to stay with Bluehost in the end.

    Bluehost served me well. They don’t offer VPS web hosting so this is why I swtiched over to Jaguar PC after my term ended with them. They do have an upgrade where you can get more files and better data transfer but the price of that is equivalent to getting VPS web hosting elsewhere. If my needs hadnt changed like that I would’ve stayed with them for sure as they gave me all good service.

    I have no real complaints to make about Bluehost. The ping time is very low and site loads very rapidly. No downtime as of right now. Yes, there are some limits even with their unlimited package. You can have 200 000 files and this includes any system files if you install WordPress hosting, or if you get a lot of email messages. Maximum size of 3GB for all databases on your account. If you use too many server resources due to running processes they may ask you to buy an upgrade. So unles s you’re using their service for too big of a website you will be fine. Our sites are with them for a year now without any hassles at all.

    I read some comments about Bluehost on a forum that they are THE reliable web host. Well maybe they WERE but not anymore. Always having problems getting decent service here. Site was down 3 times in 3 months due to hacking. This affected not only me but many of their other customers too. So this wasn;’t my fault. The reply of Bluehost was that they don’t guarantee service when it’s due to security issues. Told them to improve their security and they replied that I should read their terms of service before contacting them about a problem like this. They can’t even own up to their problems. The right thing to do would be to give me a partial refund for all the time wasted when the site was down and when I dealt with their inept support. But when I asked I was told again to read the terms of service and that they don’t give refunds for this issue. Customer service reps were always rude and seemed generally unpleasant as if dealing with a customer was just a pain in the butt for them. Would not recommend such a host to anybody, especially for business web hosting where you need to have reliability at the maximum. Terrible.

    Blue Host is my host of choice now since 2006. There were very few problems and those that happened were very minor. At one point I wasn’t able to access the control panel. They repaired this problem very rapidly and apologized for the problems. I see that this is really a professional company we’re dealing with. Great work on their part.

    Service at Bluehost is quite average but I don’t think it’s really worth the price for me anymore. After the promotion period expired they’re now charging me $9.95 per month for shared web hosting that’s just like any other host. Website loading time seems to be on a roller coaster. After checking with a tool, it varies from 3 to 8 seconds within a day. Support doesn’t seem to care too much about the problem and believes that it is just normal.

    With Bluehost I got great hosting for a couple of years. Rates went up slightly for renewal and I was checking if there’s cheaper web hosts here but all the cheap hosts look like they’re having too many problems serving their customers right. I’m staying with Bluehost just for the quality of service.

    Just like your page says, I use Bluehost for blogging. As a blog hosting solution they’ve done really well for me over the years. I’ve been around with them for over 5 years and there hasn’t ever been a major problem during this time. Bluehost also gives very good assistance if you’re using the WordPress hosting platform to create your blog. Staff is very knowledgeable and are in the know about the most recent updates and any issues that could arise with WordPress. Best blog host that I could find in quite a long time.

    If we do a general overview of Bluehost they end up being a good host. Not the best web host of all of them but still quite decent. Their reliability is good but there were periods of time where service was interrupted for over 30 minutes. I have software on my website that checks the up time to ensure that it works, so because of this I’m probably more aware of the up time than most of the users here. Also, their prices aren’t really the very best. When I started with them, it was $5.95 per month but on renewal the price jumped to $9.95 per month now. Bluehost could have at least made an effort to give a better price for me as a long time customer, maybe $6.95 or even $7.95 per month would have been good. But their customer service said that it’s not possible for them to give any discounts on renewal and that the price I have right now would be the regular price I would have to pay for my hosting. A bit disappointed about that.

    Bluehost had a very easy sign up process and all on their web site was extremely clear to me. Sales team helped me a lot to get started. I just wanted to ensure that their service was appropriate for the type of site I was building, a small flash based e-commerce site. While I have to say that I’m fairly new to them so I don’t have much of a standard to go on in terms of how reliable the services will be the simplicity of the sign up process and the friendliness of the staff during the whole phase leaves me reassured that Bluehost will be great for my needs of flash hosting.

    I have to disagree with a few of the comments posted on your site about Bluehost being unfair or unreliable. They’re a shared web hosting provider meant for simple websites that don’t get several thousands of active users each day. I sometimes shake my head when I see some of the complaints here, which look like the user tried to send 1000 emails an hour to his mailing list or tried to get 25 Drupal hosting sites to fit in on one account. It looks like these people aren’t even making any money from their websites because if they were they would at least have the sense to invest in a dedicated hosting setup rather than pushing the limits of what shared web hosting can give them and throwing a fit when they get kicked out of the server. Bluehost has been nothing but perfection for me when I was with them last year. I had two simple sites running WordPress with a few plug ins for SEO and monitoring. Nothing too fancy but the biggest thing was that there was no down time and Bluehost never complained about the resources I used as my sites were geared towards a very specific niche, getting just 20 visitors a day each.
