Customer Reviews of FatCow Hosting

fatcow review - 5 star rating

Great service with a low price – completely satisfied customer.

When looking for small business web hosting we’re all pretty much looking for the same things — low pricing and great service. I’ve been with FatCow for three years and they give me both. I”m not a technical person and I’ve never used web hosting before I got involved with my small business. So, I needed a lot of help, the company’s tutorials and knowledge base are well written and easy to understand, but when I hit a roadblock and really need some special help I have no problem calling them and getting my issues resolved instantly. They are that good. Yes, with their oath you better believe that those guys are friendly and well mannered, no snobbery over there. I’m not give the run around and transferred from person to person over and over again like we sometimes get with other companies. I don’t usually give recommendations but I highly recommend this company for overall value and service…no brainer.”

another 5 star review - fatcow

Super hosting and super support, all I could ask for.

Ok, sure, I admit it I started with FatCow because I had a coupon code and they were really cheap…I’m guilty. But, thank the lord above that I chose to work with these guys because web hosting for the newbie ain’t as easy as it looks. The guys over there walked me right through the easy stuff and the hard stuff (ok, a lot of it was hard for me) and everytime I contacted them they were awesome. It seems like I got to know these guys on a first name basis. Hahaa. True story. If you get stuck they will jump in and help you while you simply watch them, sort of like remote help, and you don’t need any special software or anything like that. I am a raving fan, and I go out of my way to tell people about FatCow, I mean so many people are looking for quality web hosting…so I have a lot of opportunities to tell people. And I do. Great job guys, buy you a steak dinner when I’m in town.”

Friendly service with a smile!

I haven’t had too many issues and the pricing is very good from what I’ve seen from other companies. Whenever I have had an issue and called (like twice), I feel like I’m getting the gold star treatment. I never feel like an idiot which is a change from my old host. I’ve give them five stars but…nothing major has ever happened yet. Maybe I’ll upgrade my review though.

Won’t switch…

People everywhere, I have been at Fatcow for about a year, and I have had not one problem, ever. I love the pre-built templates that this company has, as I am NOT a designer…hahah. There is no limit to the size of my sites, even with the shared hosting plan, and uploading files is super easy. The pricing is overall right in the middle, not cheap and not expensive…but most importantly you get what you pay for. I don’t think I will ever switch companies. I recommend Fatcow to everybody that I know, sincerely.”

Love Fatcow…

Me = very satisfied client of Fatcow, been with them for about two years and every thing is smooth as silk. Everything at this company is truly unlimited, you get a ton of value for your money, hands down one of the best investments I’ve made in my business. I do recommend them to the folks that read this and to people that I meet in my industry, unless I don’t like them, then I recommend the other guy. Their live chat is the bomb, if you have any questions, you can get immediate answers in so many different ways, it’s incredible. If you need professional hosting at a price that is super reasonable for all that you get this is your company. Unlimited really means something here.”

review

Rock solid…

Hi folks, year number two with this company and we do not plan on trying another hosting company, that are rock solid in every way that I can think of, I’m not some techo nerd, but I don’t have to worry about my web hosting and that’s all the matters to me, I know that this is technical world nowadays and that things break down, well not with this company. Using their cpanel is super easy even for an old fuddy duddy regular guy like myself…which is awesome. Give Fatcow my highest recommendation.”

FatCow web hosting is the top web host if you have a small business website. They’re excellent in their quality of support and will always be willing to assist you without any reservations. I loved the service I got from Jack in their technical support department and it is the reason why I’m staying with them and renewing my package.

I say that FatCow is generally dependable, but there are a few reservations that I have about using their services. Their servers are always up and working reliably. This is a definite plus for me as I need reliability. Their customer service is good, but there is sometimes a waiting delay of 5 to 10 minutes before you get a hold of a live agent. Still not bad. Their pricing structure is something that worries me a bit. In the first year, I paid $45 for my hosting. Now they upped the price in the second year to $90. I’m in the middle of my second year with them right now. I’m checking their prices and than it seems that they raise their prices to over $11 a month after the 3rd year. To me this is not acceptable. I like this web host as they have a good service and everything that’s included in the plan is fine with me. Except that since they’re raising the prices all the time I need to switch to a different company next year unfortunately.

Our company has been using the FatCow services for two years now. In this period there are no specific issues to be reported. Sometimes there was down time when they were performing work but this was advised in the control panel and the down time never lasted more than an hour. Therefore, FatCow would be a host that I recommend.

We’ve used Fatcow in the past, not really by choice, but because one of our clients had a hosting account there. We were fixing up his website before moving it to our own dedicated hosting platform. Concerning the web hosting at FatCow, there are no technical issues that I can report here nor did the client complain about any when he was running his website by himself. FTP transfer worked fine, the data transfer itself was quite fast, except that the response time seemed a bit slow. When you uploaded a file via FTP, it would sometimes take 30 seconds for the server to refresh itself and show the actual file that was uploaded. Switching folders would take 10 to 20 seconds each time. Not a large problem in itself, but if you’re working a lot with FTP files than this can certainly become annoying. Transfer of the domain worked, the control panel was well designed and allowed the transfer to happen. However it seems like FatCow was dragging their feet, as it took about 5 days for the transfer to be made. We had to phone them and ask what was going on. The rep said that it will be done in a few hours and magically it was done in less than 30 minutes. Don’t know what caused the delay, but they should definitely improve their speed for domain transfers. Other than that, the rep was pretty well performant and did everything to our satisfaction. So the service is good, the data transfer speed is good, technical aspects are average to good. I can say that for a cheap web hosting service, FatCow does well, but if you’re looking for excellence, they may not be the best company you would want to deal with. For small sites and needs, however, they are appropriate.

FatCow is simply a sleazy company I would avoid at all costs. I had a very simple WordPress blog which had relatively simple plugins, such as the wp cash, the rss feed importer and one that analyzed traffic, plus a SEO plugin. All of these didn’t take many resources at all. What did Fatcow do? They deleted my account and claimed that I was violating their terms of service. At first they didn’t even want to talk to me and simply sent me a link to their TOS. I requested that my concern be forwarded to a manager and finally after over a week they responded that my account was canceled because I was “abusing” their server resources and that since I was an “advanced” webmaster I “should have known” that this setup was inappropriate for a shared hosting environment. Well I now moved my website over to HostGator and it’s been going strong for the last 6 months. Any problems? None at all there. Luckily I had a full backup of all the content that was on my site, otherwise I would have been in extremely deep crap. My recommendation to you: if you need WordPress hosting, FatCow is not the option for you. They don’t seem to like people who know what they’re doing and are trying to earn money online from their websites.

Good for beginners. Built my first website on the FatCow web hosting service. A lot of help was available in their user guides and such. It’s going fantastic now and the rates they have are very low so you don’t spend too much on your site.

At this moment I’m with Fatcow and signing up with them seems like more of a mistake as each day goes by. They tried to lure me in with a low price and I thought that they would give you a lot of support for your site building as their sales people were so nice in the beginning. Of course this all ended when I actually paid. I was building a Drupal hosting site and another static site. With the Drupal website I was having way too many problems. Database errors, lost connection, etc. The only solutions they found involved me upgrading to other services or they wanted to charge me more for support for each hour as they say it’s not a problem with their web hosting but it’s my fault. I had to do my own search and ask others for the help I’ve needed. So I see that while Fatcow is cheap to sign up with, they always try to find a way to get that money from you in other ways. I feel ike to them I am nothing more than a way to make money and they don’t have respect for their customers at all.

One of the best I’ve used so far. The subscription period is not that high, so you can sign up for 18 months instead of paying for 3 years and you still get the same price. Fatcow gives you the domain name for free when you open a hosting account with them although this only applies to the first domain that you get. Installation of WordPress from Fantastico installer was very easy and done within a couple of minutes. Sales department answered all of my questions quickly when I was asking them about their services. I strongly recommend the Fatcow webhost to your clients as for me they’re just the best web host I’ve seen.

    Pierre Eric Says:

I’ve rarely seen such good quality of hosting in 4 years. Fatcow is my host of choice for 3 of my websites at the moment. They’re all small sites so they fit really well in their shared web hosting environment. Control panel was a tad different than what I was used to in the other host’s I’ve been using but after a few days you get used to it completely and won’t mind it. Email worked very well and much better than at my old host. The issue I’ve had with my other host is that very often emails would just not arrive properly. When I switched my domains over to Fatcow, just like magic, all of the email issues stopped. There wasn’t any time where I couldnt’ send or receive messages. Spam is limited and most of it gets trapped in their filter as well. I want to give a big thanks to the FatCow hosting service for their excellent quality of hosting. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to keep my busienss functioning like it should.
