“Kinda upsetting…
I’ve had to switch hosts twice in the past year, with HostGator being my third web hosting company. Unfortunately I cannot fully recommend these guys either. Their load times where poor…and when load times are poor I know that people are hitting the back button, which means my bounce rates start to fall…which means some of my rankings fall off! I don’t like the fact that I have to pay the entire year’s hosting fees upfront, even though it is cheap, I guess I’m just not very trusting of web hosts anymore. Hostgator reseller on the Diamond plan here. I use part of the hosting for myself and resell the rest to some clients and on web forums to cover my web hosting fees for my own sites. With Hostgator I always received top grade services no matter what kind of sites I host. I have some sites that are plain HTML and some others which run on WordPress, Magento or Zen Cart. The Hostgator service is able to handle them with ease. One of the features worth mentioning that I love getting with Hostgator is the detailed stats that come for free as well as the server logs. You get detailed information on the IP, referrer, pages visited, time spent on pages, etc. Using that info you can easily increase your conversions if you're using your hosting for online business. If you would like to have a serious web host for online business then I highly recommend that you make the choice of using Hostgator.

As a long time HostGator customer I can give you a bit of information on my experience with them. During the last 5 years this web host has served me well. When using Magento for ecommerce there were some problems with a 500 server error that happened sporadically but I managed to fix this on my own by optimizing the way the site is run. Don't think it was their server that was responsible for this 100%. Their speed has improved as of late both for uploading files and for the page load times. So those who think that HostGator is slow or can't handle all the new customers that they get are actually wrong. Their hosting service has improved a lot in the last 2 years. I'm still going to maintain a few websites on the HostGator account even though I have another project coming up that would require cloud hosting, which is a service that HostGator doesn't offer at the moment. If they had a cloud hosting service I would've signed up for it definitely.

Just contacted HostGator to switch my account from a shared web hosting plan to a vps web hosting service. The customer support rep was friendly and efficient although if you use the live chat you may need to wait a minute or two between responses. But the most important thing is that my request was treated. I get a VPS server with them for $25 a month with a 20% promotion for the first month.

If you're looking to try a host really cheap, there's a Hostgator coupon out there that gives you the first month for $0.01. So you can try it out that way. If you don't have a domain I recommended getting one at a cheap registrar, as Hostgator charges too much $15 per domain. That's the only thing I didn't like about them. For the rest It's all ok.

Hostgator is a great web hosting service. I'm on the baby plan with unlimited domains and have 6 websites hosted with them at the moment. Love the service I got here. They never complain about my site using too many files or too much CPU like my old host used to do all of the time. Installing the Magento e-commerce shopping cart was easy. Recommended for ecommerce web hosting as they have a whole choice of shopping cart products you can use like Magento, OS Commerce, ZenCart and a few more.

Currently I'm a HostGator reseller with the Aluminum plan. It's affordable and it gives me and my hosting clients everything needed. I've been reselling the HostGator service for the past year now and so far the only issues were some database connection issues when they were running updates on their servers. But this lasted only about 5 to 10 minutes and then all of the sites that use databases started working fine again. HostGator gives high quality and affordable reseller web hosting, so for anyone who is looking for a reseller package either to resell their hosting or to use for themselves, then I recommend them. They've served me really well on a consistent basis and I thank them a lot for this.

Very good web hosting. Currently we run a reseller web hosting account with 15 sites that we own ourselves, so we're not selling the hosting to others. The solution proposed by Hostgator is affordable and is working perfectly. We only had a problem last year when they moved some of the sites to a new server and something got messed up for a few hours. One site out of the 15 wasn't accessible. But it was repaired a couple of hours after a ticket was opened. Excellent response from support, the problem was understood and action taken to correct the problem.

The Hostgator web host has been my favorite host for the past couple of years. I've used plenty of hosts in my career so far. Maybe it's because I was lucky, but I can't really say anything that bad about any of them. They all had their small problems like a web page taking too much time to load once in a while, deficient stuff in the Cpanel, a call to support that lasts way too long in hold time, etc. But the difference in Hostgator is that these problems don't happen often, if at all. There's been a few database problems where Drupal failed to connect to the database and a time where I had to wait 20 minutes for the guy in live chat to help me, but it wasn't anything too dramatic. They know how to run their operation and do so really well to the best of their abilities. Therefore HG is the top web host in my opinion.

Hi, I run a membership site and I have Hostgator VPS web hosting on their lowest package. It's going great right now. Service works really well. Just watch out for the prices listed on their page. I think it can get a bit confusing sometimes. The prices that they have on their home page are for the first month promotional offer if you read correctly. After that the prices will be a bit higher. But if you can get an additional Hostgator coupon when you buy the service you would be able to get an even better pricing with them.
