A Few Cons That We Have Noted (Unbiased Fair Reporting — Our StartLogic Hosting Review Is Complete)
We don’t like to hear the bad point about our top 10 web hosts, but when we do we faithfully share it with our visitors. To do otherwise would make this a scam site and that’s not what we’re about. We’re about honest information which helps people with their web hosting.
Anyway, we have heard that the technical support at StartLogic is a bit too techie…if you know what we’re saying. A lot of people that require web hosting are non-technical people and they need things to be explained in lay men’s terms. We hope that StartLogic takes this seriously because this is an area where we feel they could improve.
Another interesting fact about StartLogic is that they were a top notch award winning web host about 5 years ago, in 2004 and 2005 they won major awards, but we haven’t heard much from them lately. The market place is getting competitive and it seems as if they are getting surpassed. Nevertheless, they are still a very quality web host.

Their solid, secured network infrastructure is comprised of a pooled server environment, which gives virtually any server on their network the ability to access Web site files when a request occurs. Customer Reviews (StartLogic Hosting Reviews)
“Sorry, but they seem deceptive…
Yes, they seem really cheap when you look at their initial pricing structure. But, there are some hidden fees, and I know it seems like all big companies have them, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them, does it? Their email delivery rates were not that great, that was a problem. But, it is cheap hosting and the response times are good for support. So, I’m giving them a mixed review.”
“Tech Support Story…
My main problem with StartLogic has been their support, I’m not sure what everyone else’s experience has been but mine has been sub par. I am not technical and their support team seems to think that everybody should know how to FTP and all the scripts, well sorry, but I don’t. Does that make me stupid?? They seemed like they wanted to get off the phone really quickly and their steps to resolve my problem seemed like they were taken from a standard manual or something. Good servers, not so great service, for me.”
Never had an problems with their servers or their scripts or uptime or anything like that…it seems that their technical knowledge and servers are really good. But, support is a whole other ballgame. In fact, I had to cancel my account and I got wacked with a forty buck fee on the back end for canceling. Their phone reps didn’t seem to have a clue. So, in essence — good servers, but service needs work.”
“A Noticeable Downward Trend…
“I’m sorry but this company’s advertising is just plain misleading. Not even the hosting feeds, but the costs to get your website build are simply not as advertised. I’m not saying it’s not good quality, but it’s like they say it will be, and I’m not really cool with that. Hidden fees and jumps in price = not cool. They used to be really quality and I think as they have grown they just have slipped into the abyss of the larger hosting companies out there — just want our money. I have noticed downward trend, as you can plainly see.”
“Not bad, not great…
In my experience their customer support is really quick, however when they contact me there is always a problem, which I suppose makes sense. Most of these problems were in the past when my site was being built and put up online, which was a while ago. There has been some downtime and the occasional error. I’d say for the most part I’m satisfied with the service, not perfect, but could be worse, I would think.”
“One problem after another…
One problem after another , I just simply can’t give Startlogic anything near a good review, sorry. The virtual file did not work the way it was supposed to, and it took way longer the fix that I thought it would…like around ad…like around a week. Then I find out that my find out that my sites ut that my sites can’t be viewed in China, which is part of my target market, wish I would have known that in advance, man.
In the end I cancelled my hosting with them and went to another company with better features, and had what I was looking for. All I really needed was another IP, but they wouldn’t go there. Also, when I did call for support they were not very responsive. The servers and secuirty and speed seem ok, but the rest…eh…I’ll pass.”
“Good company gone bad…
Not even close to good if you want to run WordPress sites on this host…which sucks because WP is so easy to use, as everybody knows, and that’s why I’ve moved over to this platform. So, anyway, I opened up a new e commerce site with them with a WP platform and it was running so slowly even I noticed…it was even timing out. I had to bring in a testing company to get proof that it was running slow.
They told me that they moved the database or something, to a new server. What! This site is kaput, and probably totally unable to be repaired, my visitors are p o’d and even with a migration I think that things aren’t going to work out for this baby. That in just not cool…at all.”
“Everything runs like a dream…but
I think this is a good company, let’s get that on record, first of all. But, I just don’t think that their tech support is all that great, I don’t have a ton of experience, but that has been my experience. I am not very good with computers, I admit it, but it’s super difficult to get their techs to talk in language that can easily be understood by the non -techy. I do get the impression that they are frustrated with me and just want to move on to the next person, but, hey I need my question answered!! I can’t just go away, I need help! But, having said that everything else runs like a dream…”
