One problem after another , I just simply can’t give Startlogic anything near a good review, sorry. The virtual file did not work the way it was supposed to, and it took way longer the fix that I thought it would…like around ad…like around a week. Then I find out that my find out that my sites ut that my sites can’t be viewed in China, which is part of my target market, wish I would have known that in advance, man.
In the end I cancelled my hosting with them and went to another company with better features, and had what I was looking for. All I really needed was another IP, but they wouldn’t go there. Also, when I did call for support they were not very responsive. The servers and secuirty and speed seem ok, but the rest…eh…I’ll pass.”

Not even close to good if you want to run WordPress sites on this host…which sucks because WP is so easy to use, as everybody knows, and that’s why I’ve moved over to this platform. So, anyway, I opened up a new e commerce site with them with a WP platform and it was running so slowly even I noticed…it was even timing out. I had to bring in a testing company to get proof that it was running slow.
They told me that they moved the database or something, to a new server. What! This site is kaput, and probably totally unable to be repaired, my visitors are p o’d and even with a migration I think that things aren’t going to work out for this baby. That in just not cool…at all.”

If this company is really in your top ten, then I question the method used to rate them. Their service has provided issue after issue, frequent instability and a support staff that can rarely provide adequate or timely solutions. Truth in advertising - "Backed by rock-solid technology, 24x7 toll-free technical support and our 99.9% uptime guarantee, StartLogic has earned one of the best reputations in the industry" = what value is there to a guarantee without consequences for failing to deliver and exactly how long ago were they recognized for their reputation - 2007 (as displayed on their site)?
I don't know what happened to this company. A couple of years ago they were great and they had pretty good customer support and good server speed. I think they may have outsourced their tech support out of the country. My site's down a lot and pages are slow to load. Sorry - but I think I'll be switching.
StartLogic and WordPress don't work! Since put up my blog a few months ago I've had nothing but problems - slow loading times - customer service that runs hot and cold - completely unreliable. The servers are down at least once a month and it takes forever to resolve a problem. Just this week our site has been down over 72 hours because of SSL certificate. Just tired of dealing with all of the problems - looking for a new host.
Where do I start. In the beginning, everything was going well with SL for about a year. And then it just went to pot! They did have a really fast set up service but then they started upgrades. Suddenly, email was down all the time and I couldn't get access to my site. It was when I started my blog site that I discovered how slow the MySQL service is. The site started to crawl along at an abysmal pace. Billing is confusing and the rates kept going up. When they finally jacked up the rates without improving the service - I bailed! There are a lot better options out there than Startlogic - there's no "logic" at this company.
StartLogic is a web host that I have been using for almost 2 years now. I have hosted a few websites with them and at the beginning everything seemed to be going fine. After that time they said they were "upgrading" their servers and downtime seemed to increase, in addition to me having intermittent problems with my email. It took a few contacts with tech support to have it figured out, but for now everything seems to be going ok. I just hope that they won't experience any further problems like this in the future because I like their plans and services and would not want to change web hosting companies because of problems like these.
I've been with StartLogic for about a year now and am quite happy with them. When I signed up, my site was online within a few hours and has been really easy to update. The customer service response time was within 24 hours by email which I think is quite good. I did have a few problems with getting blocked sending email to addresses with AOL, but that was fixed within 48 hours. Everything has been stable since then with no problems at all. Really happy with StartLogic as my provider.
Really BAD customer support. I don't where to start I've had so many problems - from their templates to upload problems. And right now my website is down - again. I've had enough - moving to another company. Don't bother signing up with StartLogic - it's a waste of time.
Had a few problems with them. Connection would time out when I was uploading my site. Took much longer than I expected. One done, things worked, however my site has been down twice in a month. Granted it was less than 30 minutes, but still I need my site to be up 24/7. You would be better off with another company.
I really don't have any complaints to make about StartLogic. I chose them as a web host at a time where I didn't really know much about hosting or the differences between the various service providers out there. I am glad that I chose a company which does a good job. My site has been up all the time and I never had to contact their support, so I couldn't really comment on that part, but I've heard that they are very good at dealing with problems should they arise.

For me StartLogic is the perfect web hst as my site is not too big. I just believe that they should offer a free domain name when you take up hosting with them. Other than that, the prices are good and the service is excellent so far. No complaints at all.
I really wouldn't recommend using StartLogic. There are better web hosts out there with cheaper prices and better customer support. When I talk to their tech support, they always try to say that any problem with my site is my own, when it was clear that their servers were having problems. Not good at all. I had to change to a different hosting service which was quite inconvenient for me to have to move my site over.
I think StartLogic is a good host if you have a website that doesn't use too much resources, as they are not unlimited. Overall, things are good. But there is also the fact that you need to pay for a domain, while it is free when you sign up with the majority of other hosting companies that I saw out there. Maybe they would be a better web host if they gave free domains and unlimited plan, but the most important thing is their reliability: I did not have any issues with that aspect of their service and am glad for that.

StartLogic is a good host. Prices are reasonable, but a domain name should be included with the basic hosting plan, as it is with other players on the market today. They should think about that, otherwise they will start losing customers to the competition. But their servers as well as their staff are A+++ and very dedicated to helping you.
Their plans might be OK, but I don't really like their customer service. Had a problem with my account and they sounded like they were doing me a huge favor even to talk to me. StartLogic is a great host for small business sites. They offer you good features such as email and web templates to get your site started. had my site be down for a few minutes once, but it was nothing serious.
Was a bit disappointed with StartLogic. This doesn't seem to be like a very professional company to me. Had problems signing up and they seemed not even to care about that. Then had a problem with receiving my email and their technical support tried to blame all the problems on me without even bothering to look at any of the issues. I have only used them for about 3 months but I am now thinking of switching to a better company. The only plus here is that there has not been a case so far where my site has gone down and I truly hope this won't happen. Maybe I will stay with them if they improve their customer service but they will really have to work on this part of their business if they want this to make it happen. If you have a small site, like for a small business, then I think StartLogic is right for you. The plan is not unlimited, but still offers a lot in terms of storage. I think they need to have better service if you are planning to build a big site, like for internet marketing or electronic commerce solutions. But it was still a good host for me.
I find that Startlogic is an ok host, but they are not great. There is better priced hosts out there and also more reliable ones. As of the past month my site has been down 2 times, the connection was always timing out. They said they were doing some "upgrades" that were urgently required. I hope that this is true and they are working hard to improve their service or otherwise I will have to go with anohter prvoider. Response from their support, while it was received very promptly, didn't sound liek they cared too much about the issues that it causes to their customers. So for now I do not recommend this company too much, I think they should provide to their customers that they can give them good hosting service and maybe then more people will like using then.
Really don't understand why certain people are not happy with StartLogic. For me, they do everything right. Sure, they don't provide unlimited hosting but do you really need unlimited, as most websites would take less than 100 mb to host. Most importatnly everything on their server works. The features are always accessible and the control panel is easy to figure out. The only trouble i have had is one day their email seemed to have stopped working and I couldn't check my messages for about an hours. When I contacted them, they were capable of fixing this right away. So they really do care about their webmasters. Probably those who weren't happy about their support were either cursing out the staff and then wondering why they were imploite to them, or simply didn't know how to put together a website in a proper way and expect the web host to make things right for them.
StartLogic is good overall, their smallest plan that is advertised at $3.95 a month is the one that I went with. You don't need to take a long term contract with the and pay in advanced, you can also go for the monthly plan but they charge a $30 setup fee for that. This is something that disapointed me a bit, as there are dozens of other hosting providers that let you take a monthly plan (albeit a bit more expensive) without having to pay for a fee to set up the hosting. The price is the same if you take the 12 month option, the difference will be that you don't have to pay the setup fee.
The control panel on the basic plan took some getting used to for me, as I always used cPanel before, and this one is called Vdeck if I remeber correctly. Seems like sdome of the features would be slow to load sometimes, but the important thing is that the site works well and is responsive. In my tests my site would always load very fast with no issues about the uptime or slow loading. So the price is quite affordable and the service good at StartLogic but they should get rid of the $30 set up fee for the monthly plan. Maybe charge $1 per month more or something but charging a fee to set up is pointeless in my opinion as everything is activated automatically anyways so it doesn't cost them any money to create a hosting account for you at all.
This is really a perfect web host for my business. I run a computer repair business and a small game development firm and have used StartLogic to host all of my sites, plus certain smaller sites that belong to clients. The plans are very adequate and their tech support is excellent. Every time I spoke with them and had questions they actually were able to understand what I was talking about and were willing to assist me in finding a solution to some small issues that I was having. The only down side is that they do not give a free domain, but if you search long enough you can find a domain for a few dollars on an independent registrar and then point it to your StartLogic account, if the $12 they charge for a domain is truly too much for you. Other than that, the prices are very fair. Maybe they can reduce the prices of the domain or give it free if you host several sites, but to me price is not the main problem when I select a hosting company, I want quality above all and not squabbling over 3 or 4 dollars.
Just want to say that so far everything is great. StartLogic really knows how to run a web hosting company and it shows. They may be more expensive than all of these "budget" hosts out there but in the end you will get veyr good support and you will get hosting on servers which WORK and which are not down 25% of the time like with other web hosts. If you are a serious webmaster than this company is one tht you should really go with.
StartLogic truly deserves the place that it has in the top ten web hosts list according to me. The service has always been very professional and they have always answered each and every one of my questions in a professional and rapid way. This is much appreciated as I don't like to get a canned email which odesn't address the issue at all, like with some other hosts. There were no outages that I noticed at all so they have done everything right in terms of providing good hosting to their clients. Very glad to be using them.

StartLogic provides quite good quality hosting. The only thing I didn't like was their fees for the domain and the set up. Really think that it is too high now that I have seen what other hosting charges. But I will stay with them for the good service. Support always answers you immediately and I really mean immediately when you contact them. This web host is always interested in helping you and actually cares about whether your site is working well.

I agree with many other people when I say that StartLogic is great. Their server quality is really impeccable and they truly know how to run a reliable web hosting operation. The only negative point is their price as they charge both a high fee for the domain and a set up fee when you do not want to pay in advance for years at a time. The domain is not a big problem as you can buy one on Godaddy and if you find a special some times you can get a .com for $5 or something like that. It's just the set up fee that has to go, as it really doesn't cost them money to set you up, since everything is done automatically anyways. But other than this small point, there is nothing which would make me dissatisfied about this web host at all. Since they are doing a good job, they should continue, but maybe get rid of the set up fee and charge less for domains.
StartLogic is a web hosting company that always provides high quality web hositng. This is really all that I have to say about them, because there is nothing for me to complain about. About the price, they seem to be good for me. I don't go around comparing hosting companies to see where I can save $0.07 per month. If you are so poor, then maybe look at free hosting. What is needed in a hosting company is quality of service, as well as technical support that is available to help you if you have a question or problem. With StartLogic, you will get both things and it is really a great host to use.
Problems with Startlogic:
- Their support leaves one wanting. They are abrupt and tend to overwhelm you with technical nonsense to make you feel as though you are wrong from the get go.
- They OPT YOU IN AUTOMATICALLY to displaying ads on your site (404s), i.e., they don't give a damn about net neutrality. The first time I asked them about this they told me it was because my machine or network had been hacked.
- Whilst they give you mysql databases, you only have access to them via their console (which is silly -- you can't create stored procedures)
- They don't care about your privacy. They had the audacity to go through my entire filesystem and view the contents of my files because of a report that my site was being used to send spam (I hosted a link shortener -- very different from spam)
- Their billing system is inaccurate on larger accounts. I had dozens of domains, they recharged me for privacy options (an additional ~$10) on most of them even though I had not asked for it. Because I had so many I had not noticed until much later
- They are constantly assaulting you with offers and promotions from their affiliates
Bottom line: they're cheap (but you get what you pay for).
Well, the service at StartLogic works relatively well, if you only talk about the actual web hosting service. But if you look at all aspects of the service, they are really not the best web host around. Here are some of their problems: the support that they provide is not the top you can find. Often takes a long time for them to provide you with a solution and even then they try to blame everything on you. Whenever something goes wrong, it must be your site, because they act as if nothing could ever go wrong with their own web servers. Furthermore, when you subscribe, make sure that you actually read the page where you provide your info and unsubscribe from their “promotional” mailings. The emails they send have absolutely positively zero to do with “promotions” about your service, but really they are trying to sell you either more services that you don't really need (thus making your pay more and not less), or promote some other junk services from companies that they are affiliates of (you spend even more money or stuff that you probably don't need and they earn themselves some nice commissions in the process). All in all, the service they provide is adequate and not that expensive, but beware because as you can see there are a few pitfalls with dealing with this company.

Very good host offering quality hositng services. Nothing beats quality when you are looking for a web hosting solution, especially if you are running multiple websites. For me, Startlogic is an excellent solution as their staff really know what they are doing. Of course, let's face it, if you are someone who still types with one finger and can't figure out how to turn on your computer without having 3 technicians standing next to you to explain how you should push a button, then this is not the web host for you. The good thing about Start Logic is that they do not coddle their users with a basic plan that is "unlimited" but is actually a lie. They detail their services very well on their site and their technical support and customer service people actually have experience in the web hosting industry and it shows. So if you are looking for a web host that is run by professional people who will get you results, look here. It is more expensive than others, but it is worth it. If you actually want to make money from your website, then you probably want to make several hundred, or thousands of dolalrs a month, no? Then what is $3 or $4 more per month of web hosting going to change? Honestly, i wouldn't mind paying 4 times what they charge me, as my site is profitable for me and i ABSOLUTELY NEED a host that will perform at all times. Never has my site gone down or have i experinced bad stuff happening with my site. NEVER! I recommend this hosting options for serious online marketers and webmasters. High quality host and if you make site with multimedia like video or flash -- then this is the best for you. Price little bit high and don't buy domain here bcoz you can get cheaper at 3 party domain company. But hosting is top, excellent I find!
I remember using this company last year i think. I left them because i didn't need the hosting account anymore at this time. Now i am going to start a new website and i am looking at different hosts. From what i can r r emeber there wasn't anything bad about then, just the fact that they constantly send you offers to try to get you to upgrade your stuff even tho you probsably don't need any of this. Don't remember their servers ever crashing or anything like that, so as far as having good systems, they rule. I don't think i ever contacted their technical support do i couldn't say how good or bad it is. I do remember that they have a very vast resource guide available online so you will probably not need to call their support if you are a experienced d webmaster and can fix things on your own. I looked at their prices and they seem a bit more expensive, so I am going to keep comparing them to other companies here.
Cool hosting company! They really provided a lot of help with Joomla hosting even if this was a bit out of their duty as a web host. Helped me set up my website and their technicians are actually trained and very competent. Not lazy people that just want to get you off the line as quickly as they can in some other companies. I didn't think I ever saw downtime, at least not when I was working on my site and I usually do so day and night at varying times. So if it went down, it must have been only for a few minutes, because I didn't notice anything in the states. They are really worthy of calling themselves webhosting professionals here at StartLogic. A lot of companies claim this title, but I don't thin the cheapest web host with only 1 plan for newbies is really a "professional" outfit in the hosting world, but I guess that's just my line of thinking.

StartLogic is one of the best web hosts in the world in my opinion. They have 3 shared hosting plans and I'm on the Pro Logic one, which costs me $6.95 per month for 12 months. The price is lower if you go on a 24 or 36 month plan but you need to pay in advance and I don't really like to pay for hosting too long in advance. I had a few doubts about this company when I first saw them as I didn't hear much about them. But now that I've created my account and it's been 3 months, my website is running just fine. The plan is unlimited in most regards and you should also update your information about the domain and the limitations of the plans on your site. StartLogic does offer some unlimited plans and the domain is free if you sign up with at least a 12 month term, which is the minimum one allowed. This is the best web host regarding server uptime and quality. Only a few minutes of down time in the past 3 months makes this a very good company for you to do business with. One thing I would have liked is for them to provide a monthly billing option instead of needing to pay for 12 months in advance. Also, if you want the cheapest web hosts this is not for you. The rates are higher but if you want a quality service or product you also need to pay for that rather than expect the cheapest web host to perform like a boss

I was looking for a really good web hosting company as the other ones have always been lacking in some way or form. Go Daddy was giving me headaches with their poor customer service and I've also been with Just Host which was a complete disaster from the beginning as I couldn't get my email to work with my domain and they kept telling me that it's not their problem since I purchased the domain elsewhere. Great thing now that I found StartLogic hosting. I finally got a serious hosting company and they make everything work very well. Unlike many others, they're a serious web hosting company that will give you great answers to your questions when you contact them for technical assistance. Had a bit of trouble getting Drupal up and running on one of my sites and I thought I would contact them to see if they would help me or also tell me that it's not their problem like so many of the other hosts I was using in the past did. Surprisingly for me they did help me and provided some very handy advice on making Drupal work. I'm now hosting 3 websites with StartLogic and am in the process of migrating a 4 th one right into my account here. Great quality and great service are exactly the things I was looking for from my next host and I'm very glad that I found them here.

Only had one small time that the website went down for just a couple of minutes. Otherwise StarLogic is a perfect host for me. My website is relatively small so I only have their most basic package, but if you look at their other options they really have the services that any website owner would want to have from a website hosting provider. Contacted their support by ticket to ask a question about the features in their control panel and received a reply almost instantly - it took less than 35 minutes for them to answer my message to them. Needless to say I was very impressed by their speed of customer support as this is thing is rare to be found among the competing web hosting businesses even those that claim to be the best hosts for business don't reply to a ticket opened as fast as StartLogic. I love this host.
Start Logic is one of the few good hosting services left online now. When all the others have always given me trouble with my websites this company is the one that stood out with impressive performance for 2 years now. Control interface took a bit of time to get used to but now the best thing about it is that it works very well as i have it figured out. Hope everything continues so well with them. Pretty good hosting here. Only problems were getting my site to load fast a few times during the week days, but now it appears resolved with StartLogic saying they've improved the way sites are distributed among their servers. Prices are very good and they have 3 plans for shared hosting so you'll find one for you. Just look at them and compare to see which one is best.
I'm really happy to be dealing with a professional web hosting company now. All of their techs actually do a good job when you have questions. Service is quite affordable and the great thing is that they don't put a one size fits all plan, but rather have different plans to accommodate different users. StartLogic is one of the best, if not the best hosting company I've gotten so far. While HostGator has been good to me as well, I find the service at StartLogic to be more competent and professional. There's never any waiting time if you contact them for a question. Your hosting control panel is very well equipped and the scripts and software that they have like e-commerce and blog tools are all the latest versions and updated on a regular basis. One small thing is that StartLogic is not the cheapest web host so may not suit those who are looking to find the rock bottom price when it comes to a hosting providers. But anybody else that is looking for a serious web hosting company that always delivers on its promises will probably like what StartLogic has to offer them now - as they have many plans to select from.
StartLogic is perfect as a small business host. I switched to them because the old host I was using was just raising their rates each year and trying to get people to buy more and more services while doing nothing to improve their reliability problems. Glad that at StartLogic everything was very reliable and I never ran into any trouble making things work for me. Transfering my site over to them was doen very quickly. Before signing up I spoke with their sales department and it was very clear to me that this is a company that actually knows what they're doing. They're quite affordable even if they're not exactly the cheapest web host to have. I really enjoy using their services and I hope that things will stay like they are right now with StartLogic as all my websites are now working perfectly, which is what I wanted in the first place but my old host just couldn't handle it.
